Got the first two legs of the Pick 3. Need the 6 or 7 here for the 3rd leg.

I always picked him & Kent Desormeaux just because they are from Louisiana, but over the past few years Borel has been money. I think Desormeaux won the Derby several years ago as well.

NBC is a master at fricking up coverage of sporting events.

Why do you say that? I actually don't mind NBC's coverage at all. I mean, I never really saw where there was a problem.

Desormeaux is the only reason I'm leaning hard on Dullahan....he's from my parents neck of the woods

Puff pieces. Really, really shitty puff pieces.

Oh, and turning the Derby into the Red Carpet.

ETA: And that's not even touching on their complete destruction of the Olympics

To be fair, horse racing could use something like people's interest in stars, to give it a little boost.

I am really surprised at the lack of interest in the Derby on the board, which is a sample of reality so no one hurts by them doing this.

Exactly. There has been virtually no discussion outside of this thread.

Why is everyone so high on Dullahan? He got fricked being stuck between Bodemeister and Union Rags who will both break quickly. He doesn't have enough speed to make up getting squeezed out right out of the gate. He could hit the bottom of a superfecta, but I don't expect him to win this thing.

Everyone should post their Derby bets (if you haven't already) before post time so we can see who hits it.

I played a $1 exacta: 6, 11, 15, 16 over the 3, 4, 6, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 19. ($32 bet)

$1 trifecta box on 4-6-14-15 ($24)
$12 win bet on 16 horse ($12)
Wife wants $10 on 18 horse ($10)

I like your exacta bet. I could easily see 15-6 as the winning exacta, though I went with 15-8.
