But, if they make the playoffs, good God are the Giants set to make a run for the title. I don't think they make it, but Lincecum and Cain and pray for rain is absurdly good.

They could be a lot like the Astros in 2005. But the Giants lineup isn't even as good as that Astros lineup. Relying on Huff and Molina for RBIs will cause them to lose a lot of 2-1 or 3-2 types of games.

Yeah, that Sox offense TOTALLY kills the Twins. If by kills you mean score about 100 less runs than.

The Sox have better pitching, sure. But it's not as wide as a gapas you think, and if Liriano ever gets his career back on track, the advantage evaporates.

that was 2009, this is 2010 discussion

Sox have a different line-up and the Twins are moving to an outdoor stadium. Huge deals IMO

and I'm sorry outside of the M&M boys I think the Twins are just OK

You think the Sox made up a 100 run differential with their offseason moves? Because I don't. The White Sox were worse offensively than the Twins by a huge margin last year, and you think they now have a much better offense? Based on what? Juan Pierre? That's usually a step backwards for scoring runs.

Twins have the best lineup in the division

the additions of Thome and Orlando Hudson i like.

the if JJ Hardy can rebound, watch out

Twins are lefty heavy, and the Sox do feature 3 LHP starters though, so that ought to be a good matchup

Juan Pierre?

call me crazy (I have already for this) Juan will be good for 100 runs and 50 SB.. Juan leading off in an Ozzie Gullien run offense with Quinton, Rios, and Beckham....

The problem with Kemp is that he doesn't have great plate disciple. He doesn't take walks and he's been lucky on balls in play. I'm not saying he'll hit .260, but I don't think he'll hit .300.

His walk rate went up last year while his SO rate went down. If he can slightly improve again, he's looking at a .900 OPS and GG defense in CF.

If the O's were in ANY other division, they'd have a decent shot to win the division. Even as it stands now, I think they have the most talented OF in the toughest division in baseball. Wieters is the real deal and he was putting up very good numbers once he stopped pressing. I think he'll break out this year, but look, even Joe Mauer wasn't Joe Mauer right away.

I think you're being very optimistic about the O's to put it lightly. I've been hearing this shite for years now. The Orioles are only bad because they play in the AL East. Then we promptly get sodomized by the National League in interleague play every year. How long have we been hearing from the Orioles front office that this team has a lot of good young pitching? Nothing ever changes. As long as cheap, meddling Pete owns this team, we'll never be good. If that jerk wanted to win, he would have forced Selig to move us to the National League when the Nationals finally got a team. But no, he just would lose too much money from all the Red Sox and Yankees fans that take over our stadium every year.

From whom? The Orioles have obviously sucked and were going to suck for the past deacde.

Oh. Don't listen to a MLB front office. Ever. Of course they have been hyping their lousy prospects. What else are they gonna do? But now actual OUTSIDERS think they have good, young pitching.

I also love how you say I'm way too optimistic for picking 75 wins. That's not exactly tearing the league up.

Well, you're saying that this team would be better in any other division. I don't think that would be the case. We haven't had decent starting pitching since 1997. What makes you so certain that Matusz, Tillman and Arrieta are going to develop into solid starting pitchers? I wasn't particularly impressed with Tillman last year. Arrieta is a flyball/strikeout pitcher. Good luck pitching at Camden Yards. Bergesen and Erbe are injury prone. Matusz is the only pitcher that I think will live up to his billing in the long run. I'm just not sold on this bright young future that everybody says we have.

Matusz will probably be a stud. I'm not sold on any of the young pitchers after him.

Guthrie had a hard luck year completely out of line with his previous three season. I think he bounces back. I live in Texas and watched Millwood all last year and think he's for real. He'll regress a little, but he's a solid innings eater. Matusz's peripherals are incredibly good. I mean, he averaged over 7 K/9 and had a K/BB ratio of nearly 4.0, which is ridiculous. Bergesen, if you didn't notice, had a really good year and has already arrived.

We just need Tillman or Arrieta to step up as the #5 starter. Or, if one of the other guys slipped, only then do we need both to be good. And really, they need to be the #4 and #5 starters.

more like delusional. I like Quinton if he can stay healthy and he probably will this year. Beckham is solid, but he's not going to go Ryan Braun on his 2nd year. Rios.............................really? I'm sure he will rack up plenty of rbi's with a .395 SLG.
