Think he was in between clubs, and right is OB. Trying to lay off a 3 wood brings that OB in play.

Exactly my thinking there. Made no sense not to go for eagle there. He’s not up by 1 he’s chasing down 2 still. Questionable move no doubt.

He’s leading the field in putting this week. So for this week, he’s been great.
But most weeks on Tour he is a below average putter. They usually say about him, “if he putts well, he will contend, because the rest of his game is elite.”

It’s not the 18th hole. Speith is still playing for birdie. With OB up by the green he didn’t want to lose the tournament on this hole. He can still birdie a couple of the last holes.
