Do any of them but Tiger take several months off at a time, or are they playing 2-3 tournaments a month plus practice anyway?

Tiger takes several weeks off at a time, not months. But, no, most of the older guys have played in 16+ tournaments so far this year. Rose is really the only other outlier with 12 events played, although he has played two additional non-PGA events, one in Saudi Arabia. With all the travel and practice involved in a PGA tour season and prep for majors, I can see how a golfer in his late 30s or older wouldn't be too fond of having all the majors (and Players) stacked together like they are now

Men's tennis seems to be doing just fine with aging players as their biggest draws.

Um, I wouldn't say it's doing just fine. How many people do you know who actually watch tennis? Tennis in this country especially has been struggling for a long time. And when these players like Federer are done, tennis is in a lot of trouble.

Except they were stacked like that before, just with the players in May and PGA in August, then right into fedex cup

Nobody playing well bitches too much about this

Rose is very vocal about it. Pretty sure he won the Fedex Cup last year and was #1 in the world as recently as earlier this season.

Except they were stacked like that before,

Masters was first weekend in April, players was 5 weeks after Masters, US open was 5 weeks after players, British was 5 weeks after US, and PGA was 5 weeks after British.

Now, Players is second weekend in March, Masters 4 weeks after the Players, PGA 5 weeks after Masters, US 4 weeks after PGA, and British 4 weeks after US.

They've basically removed one week in between each tournament. May not sound like a lot, but for a golfer in his 40s it is. It's quite the obtuse stance you're taking as if a 40+ year old should have no issues whatsoever physically. No, it shouldn't be a problem at all for someone in his 20s or early 30s, and no one is saying it is.

Let’s keep in mind this is golf and not basketball or football

No one said that

But keep in mind these guys are working out and hitting balls 5-7 days a week no matter where they are

Show me where I said anything remotely close to this, I’ll wait

And if they’re going to be hitting 2-400 balls a day, it doesn’t matter whether it’s at home or a tournament

They could play 4-6 times in the wraparound part of the season if they would like to spread it out to make sure they get to 15 tournaments as long as they play well enough to make the majors

The only part of their schedule that is out of their control is playing in their sponsors’ tournaments

What’s funny about that? You’re making the argument on injuries, and using JR’s stance (which had nothing to do with injuries at all btw) to back it up

And in those sports you can grind through nagging injuries and hide them better than you can in golf.

Just off the top of my head we’ve seen injuries to Tiger, Brooks, Matsuyama, Justin Thomas, Day, and many others relatively recently.

These guys get hurt all the time. Google a PGA injury report(typically put together for fantasy purposes). There will be TONS of recognizable guys with injuries.

because it couldn't be further from the truth. A range session is nowhere near as physically demanding as a 4 round tournament. To quote you "tha frick outta here"

Subjective

Tiger won with broken leg/fricked up knee

You’re also comparing team sports to golf. Does not translate 1-1

you're the one that brought them up If you didn't want them compared, why did you do just that?

You realize they spend 6-8 hours at the course daily, right? They don’t do like us and hit a bucket of balls and go home

To show how golf isn’t a physically demanding as other sports.

Then we switched to playing through injury. It may be easier in other sports, but for a host of reasons. The main one in my mind is that there are other people on the field to help you out

older golfers don't. and you realize they're not hitting full torque and walking 10+ miles every day either like they do in tournaments. That you think their practice sessions are as physically demanding as an actual tournament week is laughably ignorant. So...what you think is hitting 2-400 balls on the range a day for allegedly 5-7 days a week is more demanding than 1-2 practice rounds, 4 regular rounds, and 2 hours of range balls each day the week of a tournament. Are you high or have you just dug your heels in so deep you can't admit you're being dumb at this point?

can you please point me to the post where I mentioned injuries as it relates to older players managing the new major schedule? (I haven't)
