This is who I recommend. I am sure you could find cheaper at some e-insurance place but they really seemed to know what they were talking about. I have not gotten a policy yet, fwiw. Still have it through my job for really cheap.

The last policy I got was from Zander Insurance, the company you hear about on Dave Ramsey's show. They were excellent - I got an additional 500K for about 40/mo. They represent a bunch of good companies. They had a nurse come to my office to take some blood and give me a cup to whiz into.
Here's their site - Zander

I am about 40 lbs over weight as well and ended up going with MetLife. I have a 30yr fixed $750k policy with them. Cost around $110 a month.

Whatever policy that you get make sure that you have a term policy that is convertible to Whole-life.

You want to do that so you can start building equity in your policies. Over the yrs it can really add up along with other investments.

Oh, I have my policies through Northwestern Mutual.

I also have a decent amount of insurance through my company.

sooner you buy insurance cheaper it is. When you do have wife and kids, you can change beneficiary.

Cash value policies are a waste, unless you're the agent or insurance company - check out what Dave Ramsey says about them.

You're right, he is pretty dogmatic on some topics that aren't so black and white. But he has helped a lot of people get out of debt - the core of what he's all about.

Getting out of debt isn't that hard.

Spend less than you make and pay your bills off.

If you don't need it don't buy it.

Damn, I should try out for his job as well.
