That would be a lot wittier if I wasn't one at one time.
I guarantee every decision maker here would:
1) automatically throw every LSUS resume in the trash.
2) be kind of interested to meet the kid who lists the Yale and MIT online courses he has kept up with.
Not saying 2 gets the job, but 2 gets the interview.

What a preposterous statement

You can dismiss me all you want, what I say is true. If you meet the minimum criteria, having an interesting resume that shows you are intellectually aggressive beats out some mediocre online graduate degree.
ETA: I'm not even entertaining the idea that a resume with LSUS on it wouldn't be thrown in the shred bin within seconds of it coming across anyone's desk in my group.
ETA2: I take that back. They might scan it to send it around and laugh at it with other buddies.

I know I am not being nice, but this guy needs to hear the truth before he goes and devotes a ton of time and money into a program.
Everything is relative, and I guess if he has a 2.0 from ULM in general studies, this would be a feather in his cap, but the reality is that this thing will be on your resume for the rest of your career. Cheaping out over a few thousand bucks is a terrible idea when it comes to a degree. If he only makes $1,000 a year more because of a better degree, it would be worth it. Chances are the difference is much larger if you can talk about why you chose the best online MBA program instead of the cheapest.
I'm Not being a snob here, my education section is tucked at the bottom of my resume because any job I would apply for would view my full time Flores MBA as a black mark. I'm Not saying that the program wasn't great for me, just that it is perceived poorly in high finance communities. Perception is reality and an online degree from a satellite campus of a party school is not goin to perceived well in most circles.

It's beyond me how we got on the conversation of online MBA Programs. My question was aimed at the take of the Flores Full-Time Program.....

I don't think you are a hiring manager.
You hire people, not paper.
I don't disagree that there are managers who throw certain resumes with degrees in the trash. However, if that is their ONLY criteria, they must run their business like shite.

Some random dude pimping the LSUS program and refusing to back down.
The Flores program is a good one, depending on what you want to do. I think I laid it out pretty well in my first post.

I agree with this. I actually have heard of companies that aren't even willing to reimburse tuition expenses for Flores MBA as it's not really the "brand" they're looking for from their execs.
Obviously this doesn't apply to all industries and companies, but it does have its place.

You bring up a good point. I believe it a misconception that people who seek MBA's are "exec" bound.
If that is your goal, you are best getting into a top 20 school. You certainly don't have to attend a top 20, but it sure as hell makes the path much easier.
Simply put, there are different levels of career goals in which and MBA from a local college will get you where you need to go.

Could be worth it, but without a solid plan it may not do anything for you

Too expensive. Go the LSUS online route for 1/3 of the cost and get an MBA in 10 months.
This is surprisingly bad advice.

No it's not. It's prudent advice. Why bother with the Flores MBA when one could go the online route for way less money.

I went through all of this 6 years ago. Good luck.
Flask's answers are on point. It's a great program but it shares some of the same limitations in finance that many other state schools have to some degree. It's not Penn State.....but it's the best Louisiana has to offer and is very competitive in that region.
I think Seth Thibideaux in the MBA office still keeps recruiting records. He's the guy to talk to if you want to learn more details on more recent classes.

We only consider applicants with an online MBA when there is not an expectation that an MBA fill the position.
Like many large companies, we only recruit from reputable schools to begin with....and in Louisiana, that's LSU and Tulane.

Dester and I are both speaking from experience in the belly of the beast. You're silly dismissals have no substance. Please show me someone with an LSUS online MBA that made it into some kind of reputable analyst program after school. If you want to be in middle management at a warehouse or get a bump in pay at your state job, LSUSO would be a great choice. If you want the jobs that an MBA is supposed to (historically) land you, your going to need to step foot on the campus of a fairly prominent school.

An MBA is not a professional certification like some people in this thread seem to think, it matters where it comes from.
