There seems to be about 15-20 of these food delivery companies in operation and I cant figure out why to pick one over the others

Yep. I don’t know or use them enough. There’s a lot of hearts on this board for Waitr because it is local to Nola and I don’t blame them. But I think the competition on their market is intense and going to be tough for anyone that doesnt have a strong foothold in the big markets especially NYC where a lot of the investing is coming from.

Eta: my bad sfp I forgot where it was from, it is local to Louisiana I should have said.

I personally avoid using Waitr since I found out they take a percentage from the restaurant from using their “pick-up/take out” ordering service. If you want to order out just call the restaurant, don’t use the app.

A lot of people don’t realize this, not that they care but these food delivery services profit around 30% of the total order.

I mean, I'm not ordering from most of these restaurants if delivery wasn't an option.

Uber is getting into this space and could crush them all. Although the profitability might not be there for them. Amazon gave this a go also but announced they were canceling earlier this month.

Waitr only hope is to get bought out. Same with the others. Postmates, grub hub, door dash etc. Uber will try to bleed them out

One of these delivery companies will get the nod when it comes to alcohol delivery in Texas and hopefully soon in Louisiana. I would hope the company based in LA with a CEO who has influence in Texas will be on top of it. That’s my bet on Waitr.
