Anyone have experiences with both?

I have a choice between these two for 2018 health insurance. Previously UHC was the only choice. BCBS is a cheaper premium across the 3 tiers of policies for Louisiana residents in my group.

Anyone care to share feedback on BCBS?

Have had both, prefer BC/BS

They seem to be a more receptive carrier when it comes to coverage claims. Have had to arm wrestle UHC on a couple of occasions, never have with BC/BS

Ive had both.

Used to think UHC was the devil until I switched jobs and got a shitty Obama care BC/BS plan.

The plan sucks and just got another letter in the mail stating that copays on a bunch things are going up to dissuade people from using those services. Yes, it actually says that they are trying to get people not to use the shite.

F Obama and his stupid healthcare plan.

F insurance companies.

I'd love to have my old UHC plan back.

I never had a policy with United. But I've had several with BC/BS. I guess their coverage was ok, it all depends on what policy you have. My problem was the employees you had to speak with when you had a problem......a bunch of don't cares, I here for the small paycheck types.

Company is switching over to a high deductible BCBS health plan next year

I've had Aetna for years and they've been wonderful.

I know someone who works in the medical field and has had to sic the state insurance commissioner on United a few times. As far as I know, she never had to do that with BCBS.

I've had both. Generally prefer BCBS but they are the dominant provider in my area. Both are better than Cigna.

However, which is better in this case is really dependent on the terms of the plan. BCBS has lots of crappy plans as noted above and also some Cadillac plans. Lot of variety. All things being equal, I'd go BCBS.

Really liked BCBS when I had them. Now have Atena. Anything is better than Coventry. Man what a nightmare.

I've never had UHC, but I can say that I'm happy with BC/BS of Louisiana.
