The US would be much worse off economically if not for immigration. We would have the same terrible demographics of Europe and Japan (and now China) forward.
I don’t really understand this. We had 281 million people in 2000. Now we have 341 million. Why do we need this kind of population growth. What we are doing is national suicide and will be an economic catastrophe in the long term.
We need targeted immigration. Smart, law abiding, educated people who bring things to the table. The ones flooding in are low IQ, low skill third worlders who are coming for government freebies.

You got that right. Martha’s Vineyard would be kidnapping them from elsewhere if they were a positive.

Don’t even have to read it to know it’s bullshite.
Pretty much every government study for a long time has been using whatever data they can find or fabricate to support a narrative. Any data which tears down that narrative will be studiously avoided no matter how important it is.

The report excludes immigrants who receive or are eligible for legal permanent resident status, non-immigrant foreign nationals on temporary work visas or asylees, instead focusing on people paroled at or between ports of entry at the border, visa overstayers and undocumented immigrants who entered the country without encountering U.S. border officials.
Oh so the huge number of people claiming asylum were not included in this report - got it.
quote:
Though CBO did not produce a projection for state and local budgets, the balance of tax revenue versus benefits allotted will depend on the benefit structures in each state, according to the report.
“Researchers have generally found that increases in immigration tend to raise the federal government’s revenues more than its costs but increase state and local governments’ costs more than their revenues,” it reads.
Besides excluding all the asylees, they are also only looking at the effect on the federal budget, not state or local budgets. So push all the costs onto the local and state governments, claim it's a net positive.

We should treat immigration like they treat admissions at a prestigious college. We figure out what we need between skilled and unskilled workers and only allow in the cream of the crop.
I love hearing these liberals all talk about how we should let everyone in. Try to just walk into an Ivy League School and attend, or one of their private clubs for a round of golf, or one of their gated communities….and see how quick you get bounced.
