I'm not even calling for rates to be cut massively, but a FFR at 4.5% when inflation is slowing makes no sense. Drop them to 3%
I would argue that a 33% cut is massive

Is "alpha" the qualification you use when choosing a broker or CPA?

A DL on a football team may be an alpha, that doesn't mean I want him doing my taxes.

The man is a d*m fool and is making a mockery of the presidency. He threatened to fire Jerome Powell, the one stabilizing factor in our economy this morning, and the markets on cue are dropping like the Hindenburg.

Trump is a jerk

Fixed it for you-- and the last I saw, I can still say it. America is a free country-- I won't be sent to jail or a gulag for saying it

You sound like a weak pathetic excuse for a man. Trump is a alpha

He’s simply belligerent; just because you want to watch him have sex with your SO doesn’t make him an alpha.

The Fed needs to get off their asses and do something. All this political posturing is just making this problem worse. I'm not even calling for rates to be cut massively, but a FFR at 4.5% when inflation is slowing makes no sense. Drop them to 3%

This post is hilarious on multiple levels

You can space it out over the next year.. Whatever. Just do "a" cut to let the market know you're not gonna sit on your hands and watch stocks/bonds get completely destroyed.

However, I don't think there is any political appetite to raise taxes ever at this point. It's funny taxes only seem to go one way... And that's down.

What am I missing here? My taxes are around 20-25% of my income(federal, state). I am middle class probably on the upper end because of 2 household incomes. This doesn’t include Louisiana’s sales taxes. I looked at the amount of taxes I paid this year and it looks like a lot to me. I did lose my last child as a deduction. It’s insane I give as much as I do to the government and get nothing. Maybe the tax decreases you mean go to the wealthy? I’m being nickel and dimed to death. I’m still paying for all kinds of benefits, health insurance, etc. My check looks small to me and the government looks bloated.

The equity market is getting destroyed because many of the largest companies people invest in have a tremendous amount of uncertainty in their short to mid term prospects because there is a tremendous amount of uncertainty in the trade policy of the United States. The bond market is getting destroyed because you have people in government either intimating, or outright saying, that they want to crash the markets to make servicing our sovereign debt easier.

The leaders of our country are free to reverse course on both of those paths whenever they would like. Maybe call your congressman?

Compared to Kamala? No question Trump is still the better pick.

We need sane democrats again. The republicans are the only sane pick at the moment.

This is debatable. Both parties seem out of their minds in different ways right now.

It's wild to me that people still think this. He is single handedly tanking the economy, which we knew would happen in advance, and you guys are still all "blue team bad!' If a Democrat with a criminal record who can't figure out how to make a casino profitable, ran on an identical platform, you'd be losing your mind right now.

Tribalism will be our unraveling, and I'm sorry so many people can't see it.
