Sort of a fake news headline it seems. OpenAI previously when talking revenue including their large partnership deals as part of it (so $70 billion revenue included some revenue share). The $50 billion is the net them (excluding the revenue share). The delta, from atleast what CNBC is reporting, is not actually the result of decrease demand but an apples to oranges comparieon with an irrational market

You're exactly right.
Happy to grab the cheapies.

Forgive me if I don’t find any media release by OpenAI credible. They are clearly trying to manipulate the market and cost of usage/memory. They cranked up the demand and created the market prices. The milk is out of the bottle on that and can’t be put back in now that its competitors are acting faster, quicker, and with more willingness to pay higher costs for access. If they can’t keep up, step to the side or downsize.

This was reported by cnbc within an hour or two of the FT report yesterday. It’s far from a 180 on the initial report. The apples to apples (Anthropic comp) revenue figure was $20B lower than what the public had previously understood to be the number.
