Saw a video today from a dude in Austin who saw it both speed and drive in the wrong lane (and get honked at).

It’s in a small geofenced area and it: 1) drove in the wrong lane through an intersection 2) hard braked twice on a four lane road for police cars that were not on the road 3) dropped some passengers off in the middle of an intersection then sat in the intersection for an additional minute.

It’s far from perfect and we will not be seeing millions of these throughout the country by year end…probably not even by next year.

I know Waymo does the same stupid shite too, it’s also far from perfect. I don’t have a dog in this fight. Just stating what I’ve seen online so far.

Your extreme left wing ideology blinds you from any reality, and that’s why you’re extremely emotionally driven. You don’t understand facts nor do you have any experience. You just parrot talking points. I’ve had my Tesla on FSD drive in rain that I couldn’t handle. It will slow down and limit the speed. Try not listening to only MSNBC and you won’t be a crazy person anymore.

Yea. Some of these people are legitimately stupid and there is no helping them. Oh well.

Do you have any idea how many rides robotaxi gave this weekend? Do you know how long FSD has been employed?

No. You are just stating the very small number of errors you’ve been fed online so far. State all of the error free rides you’ve seen……. Oh and the robotaxi didn’t drop any passengers off, the rider chose the “drop me off now feature”, the robotaxi stopped and then kept going after realizing the rider was an idiot for choosing that in the middle of the road.

There is no comparison at all to what Waymo and FSD/robotaxi can do. Anyone who parrots this just oozes ignorance on what autonomy is.

Millions? Probably not. Hundred of thousands, I guarantee it. Although to get to millions won’t be a significant challenge since FSD is already on Tesla’s owned by consumers. It’s all up to local governments.

There are other fully autonomous vehicles on the road, today, that actually work. They are behind, no leading. Also you realize every cent of profit they made last quarter came from government subsidies and carbon credits right?

I'd take that bet. I set a calendar reminder to check in this thread every six months for the next two years.

I have a family member that is legally blind and can't drive. I'm hoping they both continue to expand safely and it's eventually rolled out to the entire country. It would be a game changer for so many people but I believe Waymo has too far a head start for someone to catch up that quickly.

Nice! And yeah I agree that no matter who wins its a game changer for our loved ones who are getting older and/or have disabilties.

Wait until it moves outside of a friendly city and the activists start intentionally probing them for system failures.

Let me guess, you’re going to tell me about geofenced Mercedes that works on 2 roads in California. Johnny Kilroy already made himself look like a retard trying that argument a few months ago.

I owned 2 teslas and just traded in my model Y 4 months ago. Loved the vehicle but the full self driving was absolutely horrible. I wouldn’t trust the robotaxi unless someone was in the drivers seat and could intervene but that’s just based on a lot of really weird things the car did to me. I’ve ridden in a waymo several times in Scottsdale and have had nothing but smooth experiences. Waymo seems way ahead in this battle but that’s just my personal amateur experience

Did you have the latest updated software with FSD or one that was a year or more old?

I had the latest update available up to January, 2025. If there’s been a drastic update or a bunch of updates after that I don’t have any experience with it

Tesla is geo-fenced, to a tiny little area of Austin.

What in the retard type of criticism is it to point out at another company, when Tesla does the same thing?

Well, one company is just starting to roll out the technology and work with regulators to ensure they are safe, the other has been out for how long? If Tesla still has this next year then we could talk apples to apples.
