Driftwood construction starting in April according to Betchel.

I’m thinking there’s a good chance this stock hits 10$ in the next few years. I am personally backing up the truck

Isn't this supposed to be a 30 billion dollar development?

It's been stuck in neutral for the two years I've been watching it. Maybe this will be more than a dream now.

Once again, be careful... I'm long on TELL but they still don't have financing. Some kind of "construction" will begin in April but the project is not yet funded.

Agree, but they are not waiting on financing to begin construction, which is significant. The release says that they are using existing capital and liquidity to fund the construction. I think this is good news.

I think they only have the funds to fund the first ~year of construction or something like that. They may have had a clause in their E&C contract that required a start by a certain date, or a clause with the landowner, who knows.

Bechtel is the best in the business as these facilities, have executed flawlessly for Cheniere, so I guess that's positive.

I've been involved with the LNG build down in Cameron. That facility is smaller than Driftwood, and took 3 years to go from swamp to producing LNG. So Driftwood may take 4-5 years for construction.

Starting construction in April may mean building access roads, perimeter controls, bush hogging, etc. Those actions show progress and keep permits active, but may not be 100 bulldozers moving dirt. Time will tell.

I'm in though. They are hiring for management positions now. I think it gets built.

I'm just curious, why does everyone on this thread think this will facility will get built with adequate commercial contracts?

I'm not taking either side, I'm just curious why there is so much conviction (other than the obvious bias of owning shares..)

"Because they're starting construction" is not an answer, Charif has done far more reckless things.

i think most are generally optimistic due to overall market forces demanding LNG over the next decade or 2 and this team has demonstrated success in the past.
