I bought some today. will be buying more as we go along too. that diividend is great. The pandemic isn't bad for them either WFM made me increase my internet plan, HBO max is delivering movies directly now. probably pumps their subscriptions next year for some growth. things look bright in my mind. Of course they have a metric shitton of debt too but unless they have cashflow issues that won't be a problem.

The greedy networks ruined Direct TV (and Dish) and every cable provider. They constantly want to raise the rates to the providers and pack 20 minutes of commercials in a 1 hour show.

nobody ruined cable/satellite TV.
advertising has changed and thus the business model has changed (just like newspapers/magazines vs web).

ROKU is the future, AT&T has nothing to do with that

i meant AT&T has nothing to do with the eventual decline of subscription satellite (DirectTV) as others have said. regardless of how they have managed DTV, it's on its way out.

and yes, AT&T stands to benefit greatly from ROKU ascendance.

so...buy T & ROKU

Mostly on a bet of what will happen with releasing all of Warner’s movies on HBO.

That’s easy - because 3 days ago I put a limit order in instead of a stop by mistake at $29 and accordingly was liquidated.

Didn’t want to immediately buy back in as I didn’t want to wash the capital loss.

You are welcome lol

"They have some baggage but sounds like the new CEO is looking to trim some of the fat and get rid of the dumb investments they've made over the years."

The outgoing Chairman and the new CEO are the ones that got T into trouble to begin with. And the only reason the new CEO got the job is because no one else wanted it.

I believe their total debt is around $190B. They need cash for the upcoming C band wireless spectrum auction and they don't have it unless they sell DTV.

It's a dividend trap and I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.
