I’m pretty upset I just got a pattern day trader warning on Robinhood when I went to go sell. I’ve been killing it trading the swings... What happens if I get marked as a pattern day trader?

I never did any day trades outside of the ones I’ve done in WKHS the past couple days. I don’t know what having that flag on my account would mean which scared me out of a huge sell. Lost a couple hundred easy right there because I would’ve already been back in lower with more shares.

I need to pay more attention to the unsettled funds item then. I see plenty of times after a trade my money sits there for a while but don’t know what makes it “unsettled” vs going directly into buying power after a trade. ETA: it was good fortune after all. WKHS just blew thru the wall at $19. Now closing in on $20. Original buy in was $8.96 on Friday and I made even more trading it throughout the day all the way up

If you exceed the trades allowed and get labeled a PTD your account will not be able to trade for 90 days. Or until you exceed $25k market value. You can switch to a cash account and trade as much as you want

Thanks for the feedback. I wonder if maybe that starts on the next trading day then as in tomorrow. Since I got the warning this morning I’ve continued to sell and buy the dips with no problem. Will suck if I run into that tomorrow though where I can’t do it because trading the dips has been a cakewalk on WKHS yesterday and today with all the volume and volatility. I’ve just been executing limit buy/sell orders over and over.

I think there's a deal in the works with Workhorse and the USPS. Supposed to be announced sometime around July 14th (delayed due to covid).
I guess its between WKHS and a couple other companies.
Given this is an election year politics could push this deal towards WKHS (being based in Ohio).Just my opinion, tifwiw.
(Edit: apparently someone at Bloomberg might think so as well....

depends on why you bought it.
it is a stock that has made lots of people lots of money and now trading near its high.
I have a stake in it but I bought at 100 so I’m happy with the return in the short term but nowhere near the profit others have had. I’m likely to take my money and go at some point if I see a better opportunity.
this run in growth stocks is going to end and when it does you should be in stocks you believe in. The four I believe in right now that I own are FSLY, LVGO, ROKU and ETSY. I’ve also got TDOC, SE and NVTA that I’ll quickly dump if things go south because I bought much higher
