Anyone hear anything about this? I am a 6 month old medical practice in NOLA that had just “made it.” Had to cancel all my appointments for the next 2 wks and have to pay my staff. Any stimulus programs for someone like me?

This is absolutely devastating to my business. Huge financial hit.

Why did you cancel all of your appointments? I saw a dr yesterday who scheduled a minor procedure for next week. My better half has an allergy shot appt tomorrow. Most practitioners are busier than ever right now, not cancelling everything.

Might want to relook your cash flows and make a formal cash budget when this ends.

What kind of medical? I would have thought y'all would be dominating right now... unless your practice is 100 percent elective surgery and you can't find surgery space right now.

Are you sure you have to pay your staff??

I work for a doctor and I know damn well if we're shutdown I ain't getting paid unless I use my vacation days.

Can you rebook and space the appointments farther Re are ways to keep at a safe distance, and your PTs could have offered masks to any high risk clients. I think you jumped the gun.....so now regroup, contact your cancelled appts, and start rebooking them ASAP.

La dept of health is shutting down all medical services that aren’t deemed essential/emergency

Ugh. I can understand in a hospital / surgical / multi-speciality environment where that is a good idea.

But I doubt (this isn't a criticism) that you and your medical staff are going to be able to convert your therapy clinic to a makeshift COVID-related operation.

Also I would think if someone is in pain, it's essential...

75% of them were cancelling anyway. Many PT patients are old and frail and high risk. Dentistry just got shut down. We are likely next. Guess we will give it a few days and see what happens then offer appointments next week for the younger crowd. I’m lucky I have deep untapped lines of credit to ride out an extended closure in the event of a long term shutdown.
