Did some research, and my neighbor- same style house, .25 acre larger lot, 30 square foot less house, was $60k less than mine in value.
How does one find the sq ft of comparable nearby homes? I can see the assessment details but doesn’t list details like sq ft.

It's the CADs of the districts/counties. You should watch the episode of the TX county that agreed to have solar arrays installed at schools, it is fricking unbelievable the cost/stupidity/graft of people in charge of schools, etc. TX no income tax may come to an end as what is currently in place allows absolute fleecing of property owners with no means of limiting their tax cost.
A friend who lives in SE FL is up to $18k in property tax and HO insurance on the house he and his wife are renting out as they moved back to Huntsville last year. If his wife wasn't ex-military their HO insurance would be significantly higher.

Spending in most non ghetto areas on school is way out of hand. Just look at the school buildings and it’s obvious. They are a lot different than schools built 40 or even 20 years ago.

If anyone is former military or had a parent or grandparent that was in the military, check USAA. I have both home and auto with them and they are significantly cheaper than other prices that I have found.
