Just saw on X SpaceX is offering pre ipo shares to accredited retail investors.
Minimum 50K investment.
Any takers?

Honestly, is there any downside other than indefinitely locking up the funds until it goes public?

Where did you see this. Absolutely in for $50k.

Does it not matter how many shares they’re selling?

They need to be somewhat careful, otherwise they’ll dilute existing shareholders too much. That depends on the share structure as well. Also remains to be seen what rights the pre IPO shares carry vs existing shares. Not sure if this would be a crossover round or something else.

Sounds like a scam, double check the source

Someone on here invested in SpaceX through gray markets 1-2+ yrs ago.

If it was 100% legit and you had all the rights as you typically have when owning a stock I would ask for the wiring instructions today for 100k

Is there a link for this, you can post X here now?

Is this through Rainmaker X?
I see they are offering shares for an initial $50k investment, but you have to meet certain net worth qualifications, which I am not privy to.

Definitely sounds like a timeshare door buster. Unless they’re trying to target you for services it shouldn’t matter what your net worth is as long as you can come up with $50k.
The only reason I remember the poster who discussed buying shares on the secondary market was because the price seemed completely separated from reality. ..but now that they’re claiming $180bil valuation, it might not have been too ridiculous.

The reason they're requiring accredited investors is due to the type of stock you're buying. Private equity is very different from public equity. For example, while preferred shares have no voting rights in public equity, in private equity they actually have significant voting power, and different preferred classes often have different rights. In addition, as someone else mentioned, there's little or no liquidity. The average investor has never been exposed to anything like it, and most wouldn't understand the terms and rights in the shareholder agreement.
My guess is that shares like these are probably common shares from employees, so they're at the end of the line when it comes to a liquidation event. Even if an accredited investor is unfamiliar with private equity, the thresholds ensure they can handle a loss.

I registered on Rainmaker-X to look into their SpaceX shares, but their website is trash. So confusing to use and like zero instructions.
Anyone actually acquired shares through Rainmaker before?
