An Apple manager in Asia has been arrested and charged with taking money under the table in exchange for giving Asian firms inside information on how to approach Apple when seeking contracts for component manufacturing.

In a totally related story, Cupertino residents report hammering sounds coming from the Apple campus. Reports that the hammering sounds are from the construction of gallows have yet to be confirmed.

Apple stock was flat today because it is Saturday.

I registered my youngest for kindergarten this week. While doing so, the principle asked me for a few tips as the school board had replaced all laptops for administrators with iPads.

Tune in for Scoop's daily apple update tomorrow.

Already very old. Why won't you just tell us in a reasonable fashion why you believe the stock to be so undervalued? Can you at least name a price where you would think it to be FAIRLY valued?

I'm doing this for two reasons.

The first is to tweak you guys.

The second is to exhibit how visceral a few select people are in their in their irrationalility, often disguised as rational (JT) against Apple despite it's unquestionable greatness.

Sunday might be slow but I'll find something for an update.

10 years ago nobody was talking about how great apple was. 2 products later, it's the best company in amurka?

AOL? Wouldn't that be better suited as an argument against Google?

The only tangible product Google has made was the Nexus One smart phone. How did that work out?

Comparing AOL and Apple is 9th place in the Special Olympics softball throw.

google provides wide-ranging services and products, and is a data collector more than anything else

google's main industry is intangible (data)

i dunno

both are/were the "cool" option

both provide(d) inferior, expensive services when you can get cheaper and better alternatives elsewhere

hell, both are aimed at the low-end of the totem pole also

Exactly.

I remember Alta Vista and Netscape.

Google is diversified, obviously, but they give away the Android OS and their only attempt to actually make something you can hold in your hand was a cluster frick.

When you don't actually make anything, as Google doesn't, you are perpetually vulnerable and can go to the wayside in a heartbeat just like so many others have.

Google has absolutely nothing to worry about. They deliver some of the best products available--whether they be data oriented or a physical object.

The nexus one is also a pretty damn good phone considering when it came out.

You have said this a couple of times. Explain.

What Apple product is inferior to it's main competitor?

so we should judge every company on its tangible productions?

well the ipad may be the best tablet pc out there, but that's debatable. the same power (albeit on a lesser OS, obviously) was found on tablets 5-6 years ago

but the evo is better than the iphone. faster, more powerful, and you can do what you wish with it

and linux > windows > apple when it comes to OSs

but with linux and windows, you choose what you want in your computer, hardware-wise and software-wise

there are faster pieces of hardware than what you get with apple computers

further, apple works if you believe the company that made your OS knows better than you what types of programs you need, and which to allow on its OS. and they charge you more to restrict the use of your computer

Do you have any sort of evidence or link to me being "against" AAPL? I mean, I personally dislike CONSUMING their products, but I do not deny their overall quality. And I have NO OPINION on the valuation of the stock. So what the frick are you talking about?

They don't use these bc it will improve your child's education. They use these so they can look "hip". And guess what...it worked on you.

Once, this "hip" fad is over AAPL is screwed. The people who desire more open equipment have sailed. The idiots trying to look cool will sail as soon as they are told there is a new cooler ball to play with.

If your moat is based around people who don't like to think for themselves you are on shaky ground. Today AAPL tells them what to think...tomorrow who knows?

Well, that and their website.

I'd say they are 1 for 2 with a bases clearing grand slam at the moment.
