I think it will be a hit with our customer demographic, but I worry how the less-tech able generations will transition to W8. It has suchhhhh a different layout and functional user platform.

It is, without a doubt. That is the biggest hurdle, IMO. If they can convince people that its really not that hard to use, it will be adopted. And you know what I think the easiest route to success with that is...through tablets.

I wonder how hard it will be to get the corporate types to buy into the new OS right from the get go especially when the UI looks so much different. The company I work at is just now switching to Windows 7 from XP. They completely skipped the Vista cycle. So I'd imagine they will stick to Windows 7 for a while.

Yeah, I just got accustomed to windows 7 and now they drop this? I think I'll stick with what I have. I'll lose my shite if they come out w/ a new version of office w/ different hot keys though.

Agree, there is a definite trade-off there as win8 is decidedly not enterprise-friendly looking on the outset. Athanatos, I don't think they've changed the hot keys in excel since 2000, I think you're safe.

Spoken like an excel rookie keys are different between 03 and 07/10. This is the stuff that gives me nightmares.

I applaud the guy for stepping out, but I'm not sure his tax argument holds water though, for the very reasons he specified earlier. If they really were after the streaming business, and more importantly, if NFLX was really willing to sell it, they would have just done a spin-out two years ago and gotten it over with, IMO. Its a good point though, one very specific to AMZN.

I'm going heavy in the GSCI ETF for my long term retirement account as new money flows in. Energy is relatively cheap right now.

Bachelor party this past weekend = swamped. Only thing notable today was the Case Shiller, which did about what was expected.

I wish posting a picture of my desk wouldn't get me fired. Whenever I got it, I had no idea why it was so big...... Now, I do.

My 401k only allows us to contribute up to 10% in commodities because they are "too risky."

Guess it's IRA time.

Also, BP price seems to be pretty darn cheap. I hadn't checked in a while, but I remember buying at 44 and thinking it was a steal.

Anything with the fundamentals of the companny change? The only thing I saw the oil going down in price. I've been totally out the loop.
