Yeah, I made it up there for the IB super day but didn't like the feel and deal flow at the time.

Chicago and NYC for some training this week. W/ a lot of kids from GS,CS, BMO Cap. Mkt, Lazard and BNP.

Nice. So you basically cut Stephens.

I imagine the pissing contests are plentiful within that crowd. I also imagine the burn out rate for those guys is extremely high. Almost better to start off boutique in a way.

You didn't read my manifesto in the Alejandro work thread? I moved up the essentials today. I have an odd set of circumstances where I already have a place, so I won't move up everything until October probably. Rent for the next two months is going to be brutal.

Are you interviewing or just living it up?

No I start a full time internship on Wednesday with an interview there some time in August, and other interviews here pending in August/September and in NYC in (probably) August.

I'm pretty glad I decided to go a different route and go to a more sector focused bank. The deal flow is just unreal here so I really can't complain.

Damn, Stephens is getting major snubbed by the MT crowd. I wouldn't have thought. They're a pretty big bank by any measure.

Yeah, I imagine the state you're in lends itself quite well to your sector focus as well.

Also, the sector focus probably lends itself better to exit opportunities with companies within the industry (if you wanted to go that route) than does just someone who happens to cover that industry (likely, because they were assigned to it or it was the only position available) at some generic bank.

I posted that a while back. The culture at bridgewater is definitely one of a kind.

1st day tomorrow. Scouted out my route to/from work. I don't have to be there till 9 tomorrow, but I intend to ameliorate the Houston traffic nightmare by just getting there at 7 and leaving when I just simply can't work anymore.
