Looking to add gold to the portfolio . Any feedback or recommendations would be appreciated.

It’s an easy, highly liquid way to get exposure to the underlying commodity. It’s inexpensive and has low storage costs as well.

How much of your portfolio would you recommend in gold to keep things balanced.

I like the way gold feels in my hand. ETF can’t give you that.

I like the Sprott Physical Gold Trust (NYSE Arca: PHYS) because (unlike most gold ETF's) they are committed to acquiring physical metals ... more like a "gold-backed" ETF.
Not on a dollar-for-dollar basis, but a controlled ratio. PHYS currently houses more that 2.5 million oz of physical bullion for this single fund. At yesterday's spot price of $1,950/oz, that is a $4.875 Trillion asset.
Only my opinion, but I fully believe it is important for precious metals investors to understand the difference between the paper gold and physical gold markets, .... particularly when it comes to counterparty risks.
IMO, precious metals have a role in any well-diversified portfolio ... but there are many different strategies and methods one can use to successfully fulfill this objective and other objectives (like hedging and estate preservation).
Just my dos centavos ... as always, DYODD ...

Sprott Physical Gold Trust is it really an ETF? Seems like a lot of head aches.
