The word franchise was used 15 times in Pfizer's last earnings call.
Pfizer's COVID vaccine and antiviral drugs is now a $56B per year business.
Marvel + Star Wars (Lucas Films) generated $56B in revenue the last 12 months for Disney.
So one vaccine + one antiviral pill is now as strong a franchise as two of the most iconic movie franchises in history combined.

Ok and the stock is selling off because everyone expects those sales to fall of a cliff. Hopefully Pfizer invests that money that they earned in developing new drugs in the pipeline.
This is how all drug companies work, except in Pfizer's case it is probably a worse deal than normal because they tail of sales for the vaccine will be very small. Compared to something like Abbvie's Humira which is racking up 20B in sales every year.

No wonder all the covidians still love their masks and showing off their vaccine booster bandaids. They’re trying to compete with MCU and Star Wars fandom

It's pretty amazing how far we come with medicine.
When I was a kid HIV/AIDS was a death sentence. Now medication is marketed on TV with the same tone as psoriasis and bladder problems.
