Its higher in premarket. If premarket holds I will clear around $3100 on the TSLA calls.

Do you intend on moving your stop loss up to around 3k and letting it ride, or selling asap at market open?

Why? You have a nice gain. Sell the options.

Because I wanted more shares of TSLA but I changed my mind and sold at open.

ETA: Looks like I lost out on another $800 selling at open. Oh well...

Good deal.

Never beat yourself up over taking profits.

If you grew up with Charlie Brown you remember Lucy "taking the football" right when Charlie was about to kick.

Options trading is similar. Lucy will take the football.

I was busy yesterday and forgot this was a good earnings week so I bought a few contracts about an hour before close yesterday and didn't risk a lot since I was in a hurry but I made a little this morning

I don't go all in to hit home runs like a lot of people try to do with options. I buy a few here and there to get some base hits. It all adds up eventually.

TSLA last week was a home run, though.

I have calls in V, AMD, CMG, and ADP right now.

Had some GOOGL but sold for a small gain and chose not to hold through earnings. People are saying that ad revenue on YouTube is predicted to take a hit due to streaming competition.

ETA Speaking of base hits...

I sold AMD when I was up 29.31% and did not hold through earnings thankfully.

V had news break out right before close they were laying off 14K people and the market reacted. I was up about 14% all day on the calls but got cold feet and sold at an 8.58% loss thinking earnings would be more bad news. Mistake

CMG didn't do much all day so I sold right before close at up a measly 2.79%.

I also sold ADP at nearly break even after I got cold feet but they won't announce until tomorrow morning so TBD if I made the right call but I would be down on the calls already if I had held.

My worst mistake today was bailing on GOOGL but I made money today and that's all that matters.

Tomorrow is a lot to watch with ROKU, META, MSFT, SBUX and more

Ok... I want to ask again, because I'm always looking to improve my knowledge, What's the turn off from 2x etfs?

Example, I purchased MSTU at 61 and sold a call for $1500 on it. It is now at 92. The call sold was the $68 strike. Ends Friday.

On a dip, I sold a put @ the 52 for $530. It's worthless right now... ends on Friday too.

I'm now looking at TSLL. For a long hold.

I really do want to hear the issues... I don't wear my feelings on my shirt. So don't hold back!

Nothing wrong with leveraged etf's. Like any other stock if you're right on direction you make money. I trade a lot of TQQQ, SOXL, and TNA. Generally, I sell puts and if assigned I sell calls against them.

I you want to see some real volatility try DPST. It's 3 times the regional bank stock index.

I have heard fees...etc. But like you, I traded TQQQ, SOXL (just assigned friday) and more. I have never seen fees taken from my account.

Out side of they trade in harder swings, I don;t understand the shying away from them. Which is why I have asked a few times. I don't want to over look things

I imagine the fees are the management fees that are taken out of the funds assets to pay the advisers. Over time that can be a drag on performance if you try and hold long-term.

I need you and Jag to give me feed back on a trade.

I'm trying my hand at synthetic longs. 3 leg trade With 1 sold call, 1 sold put and 1 purchased call.

This is an example, not an actual trade using BAC

20th Dec $46.50 Call purchased for .40
20th Dec $46.50 Put sold for .99 credit
13th Dec $35 Call sold for 1,093 credit

Entry credit: $1,152.00 net credit
Maximum risk: $3,495.00 (at BAC$0.00)
Maximum return: $6.50 (at BAC$46.04)
Max return on risk: 0.19% (22.6% ann.)
Breakevens at expiry: $34.95

What am I missing? There has to be a downside?
