So once this posts I should take it out of coinbase and put it in a paper wallet? I'm assuming polo is like coinbase but with more trading capability. If I place it in a paper wallet do I transfer it back to coinbase to technically trade it? Any tips on paper wallets?
I see this as more of a long-term investment so thanks in advance for the answers. This is pretty exciting stuff.

Yes think of coinbase/polo/kraken as your bank via which you can convert tokens and also swap with people. Most paper wallets give you a public address (which people can send to) and also the option to send. There are hard wallets, like encrypted USB drives, and soft wallets like MyEtherWallet that generate a file for you once you provide a chosen password, and through their site the combination of that file and your password lets you access the wallet.

This crypto craze is fun and scary at the same time. It seems like there is 50 new ones every day. My ether will finally arrive tomorrow. I may take a little bit of that just to play around with on another exchange. See if I can't hit one that suddenly surges.

I have a question about coin base, I bought some ethereum last night. It says +x amount of ethereum and under that it says +x amount of USD on my dashboard transaction. But when I go to the actual transaction in the tools section it has a price per coin that is actually higher than what is on the dashboard transaction. I'm curious which one is correct and why they are different.
ETA: I bought 200 dollars worth. On my dashboard it says +1.41..ETH +197.39 USD. My fee was 2.99, so what happened to the 2.61? It shows a higher price per coin in my transaction than on my dashboard. Just trying to figure this out before I put a ton of money into it.
