I've been getting that most of the day.

I have no idea how any of this works. I'm still waiting on my coinbase account to link to my bank account to even start. Once my account is set up, I transfer money into coinbase, what is the next step?

Prepare thy anus immediately after linking bank account

Does that mean when I log into Bittrex to my account under the same email, the BTC will be available to me there?
No. You can sign up for Bittrex with the same email, but your BTC are not tied to your email address.
Whenever you sign up for Bittrex you will get a BTC wallet that you can deposit or transfer BTC to. It will look something like this: 1JEiV9CiJmhfYhE7MzeSdmH82xRYrbYrtb
You'd transfer BTC from coinbase to whatever the address Bittrex gives you. They'd show up in your Bittrex account after 30 minutes or an hour or so.
BTC are tied to the addresses of random numbers/letters like I pasted above. Not tied to email addresses or IP addresses or anything.

What are the alternatives to linking the bank account?

I figured I would need a public key to send it to. I guess I didn't see where Bittrex gave me a key after I signed up. Thanks

I've never used Bittrex, so I'm not sure of the exact steps.
Probably if you click on something that says something along the lines of "deposit BTC".
When I did this on Poloniex I had to click around a little to find my deposit address. It wasn't right in my face, like you'd expect it to be.

Yeah, it generated an address for me when I clicked the "+" for Bitcoin

Has anyone else been getting an error message anytime they open the coinbase app today?
Coinbase has been swamped today. Which is great news for everyone investing.

Ivan had a coinbase account for a few years but the last year it has been restricted so that I cannnot buy and I've sent so many support requests it's ridiculous. i have signed up for CEX.IO and Bread as well and keep getting denied. Louisiana isn't a state that is approved to exchange crypto currency Correct?
Who the F can I use and sign up with to get back in the game.

quote:If you don't want to link your bank account, you can purchase BTC or ETH with a credit card. I'm pretty sure your limits are lower at first though.
What are the alternatives to linking the bank account?
quote:You have 2 options. 1.) You can transfer the money to Coinbase. Then buy BTC/ETH after the 3 business days it takes your money to get transferred. So you'd be buying BTC/ETH at the rate it will be in 3 business days.
Once my account is set up, I transfer money into coinbase, what is the next step?
-OR-
2.) Assuming your bank account is already linked to Coinbase, you can buy BTC/ ETH today and select your bank account as your source of funds. You'd get the BTC/ETH locked in at today's price. Then once your funds clear to Coinbase, they'd give you the BTC/ETH in your account.
It's up to you- Do you want to get locked in to today's prices? Or do you not care and want to get in at whatever the price is whenever your funds clear?

(Coinbase is getting overloaded today, so it may not be the best day to do this)

..this is crypto, high volatility - you should EXPECT this, and expect lots more.
i bought in the 170s because i'm hoping it his 2k in a year or 2. i'm not worried that i lost 20% on this current high mark
if it gets down to 85-90 i'll make a decision then
Posted on 5/22/17 at 10:07 pm to PhifeDogg
Yea I had sent my license back a while ago and it was verified.

i didnt get interested in BTC until 2013, after it was deemed legitimate at the senate hearings, etc
it went from around $400 all the way to $850, and then within a months time, it fell all the way under $200!
with ETH, we might get all the way up to $300 on this rally, but with all this volatility im cautious. where will the bottom be raised once it retraces? 90? 100? 120?
ive seen this game before, but if you trust in the technology then hold and keep accumulating. who knows what will happen once coinbase and the exchanges finally can handle all the new volume of investors.

Didn't bitcoin crashing have a lot to do with Mt. Gox imploding?
Posted on 5/22/17 at 11:16 pm to The Boat
I wanted to buy in today but having trouble and getting the 24hr bug on my card. Now just have to wait for it to link to my checking before I can do anything.

after reading up on the tech it sounds like it has potential to be great. it's not limited like BTC is and with tech-type investing, the sky is literally the limit. i'll sit and hold for a few months and see what's happening
