pretty much, down ~90% not worth selling unless I’m trying to harvest losses to offset gains. I’ll probably hold it through the next alt szn to see if it shows any signs of life

I know we keep predicting it and btc keeps running, but we all know there has to be a correction at some point before the big run.

It probably won’t be a very deep correction because everyone who didn’t buy when it was 20-25k is sitting on the sidelines kicking themselves. Still, I can’t see btc breaking 66k before halvening and I also can’t see it being flat for more than 2 months in this environment.

Looks like it is correcting now. Down a couple of thousand in the last hour. It is going to be volatile. Looking back to 2016 and 2020, Bitcoin dropped 40% and 20%, respectively prior to the halving. I think this is just a dip going on now. I expect a runup prior to the halving and 1 sharp pullback before slingshoting past $100k and higher into 2025.

It’s a reasonable prediction but this time does feel different.

It wont stay down long.

Someone saw an opportunity to rek some longs and took it. It settled out pretty quickly after the bots got done doing their thing. 'tis but a scratch.

how "prior" are we talking? If the next one is in ~April 5 months from now do we think it'll continue to dip from now until then?

I have a 5X leverage position open right now on SOL, but yeah there are people who do 100-200X. That's ridiculous.

probably going to be disappointed if you’re expecting >30% drop from 45k for anything beyond a 4H candle

I think they were both much closer to the halving. My best guess is that Bitcoin will be volatile, but will continue rising overall and then have some pullback very near the halving. Then the parabolic rise in price will start within a few months after the halving and last until as late as perhaps October 2025.

I'm holding through any volatility. Bitcoin should be maybe $100K by year end 2024 and heading higher through likely at least mid 2025.

The best time to sell part of your holdings if you need to would be between year end 2024 through as late as fall 2025.

I'm planning to slowly but surely accumulate through the run then sell around winter/December 2025. Then if history repeats and it massively tumbles within 6-12 months after that, start accumulating again for the next selloff in 2029 lol.
