This is a Solano chain I assume. This will be my first foray with them .

Kinda wishing I didn't give up my avax bag, but I kept just under 1 AVAX token for gas in case I wanted to play in the space again..turns out that's capturing some good value. Considering buying 1 more token and seeing if AVAX challenges Solana market cap soon ..

So far of all the chains I have used, SOL is the most user friendly and seems to be the fastest. AVAX was confusing as frick at first.

yea Ada was the worst experience I had. STX on Bitcoin was awful as well

Eth narrative relies heavily on hopium about the network scaling "one day" and eth whales shaming everyone else for going to cheaper, faster alternatives.

going to be an interesting year or so

This isn’t gonna fly in another year

If we are still talking ETH scaling issues in 2023 that chain is going to be in trouble

well they're still marketing the "eth 2.0 will fix fees" narrative, but it will not in any meaningful way

sharding is not going live until 2023 so by that time you'll have sol maxis Ada maxis Avax maxis pulse chain maxis etc

will they switch back to eth at that point? that's the unknown.

ETH is scaling with layer 2s. They're here but still throttled so fees aren't super cheap yet. I think in the next year we'll see an explosion of development and adoption of layer 2s. Even sharding wont fix lower gas enough retail on layer 1 by the time it gets here, it'll just amplify throughput greatly (which will lower gas, but by then gas will be even worse) which will make layer 2s even more efficient.

We won't be using layer 1 Ethereum for retail ever again.

and then L2 tokens will create a larger capital sink that may otherwise be in eth

this already happened as a case study during defi summer. defi exploded, eth barely moved

Most of the layer 2s use ETH for transactions. They don't use a native token. Polygon being the notable exception.

The transactions roll directly onto the Ethereum blockchain, the layer two is just an execution layer. Solana's secret sauce is that they basically baked layer two functionality directly into the layer one.

um L2s are releasing their own tokens, every L2 will have one despite what they say now lol

optimism and arbitrum will need to incentive protocols to use them and theyll do that through a token

zksync just released a token as well

They're not native tokens in that they're not used to transact. They are governance tokens.

Also, you've moved the goal posts. We were talking about scaling the network, but now talking about price action.

Between burning of eth and ever increasing demand for Ethereum block space, I see no reason why price would not continue to go up in the long term

once zksync can bribe projects to use them, what do you think the others will do
