Are you guys getting on these alt coins in hopes of them blowing up or have you done research that give them positive vibes? Surely they all have functions but just curious to you guys approach on them.

Some research but they're so early in their existence it's pure gambling.

I'll read a little about them and if I like their idea and they check a couple boxes (solid management team, idea potential, decently low/undervalued market cap, etc...) I'll toss a solid amount at them.

I've mostly been looking at various platforms (Ethereum competitors) and spreading some money between them. So far I just wish that I'd have originally put more money into them, but only time will tell...

Which ones are you looking into. I've only bought ETH early in the game around $80 so I'm long term on it. Looking for ideas for a quick flip. I see okie always talking about golem and others mentioning ETC.

I'm limiting myself to the ones listed on Polo (not exactly much of a limit). I'll try to just pick one that's listed on the BTC exchange and then search for it on coin market cap, look at how it's trending, read about it on it's website, and make a decision from there.

Right now I'm on STRAT, ARDR, EXP, and RADS.

Have an account on both sides and have ether in your coinbase wallet. Go to polo and go to the exchange. Click on the ethereum tab. Click on the golem line. Gnt. There will be a link to 'deposit ether' In there it will show you an address. Copy the whole thing. Go back to coinbase and go to eth wallet. Click on send ether and it asks for an address. Paste the polo address and the amount you want to send. Should be completed within minutes

I am trying to deposit eth from coinbase, but polo is getting stuck here every time and never generating a code, any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I am only buying GNT right now. I would buy more ETH, but I am very bullish on AUPH right now. Dumping money into that as well. Only have so much to go around.

This. I've done a little bit of research, but I'd be completely satisfied if I can lock in some near term gains and roll those profits into something more stable like ETH. Will probably hold a small amount of various alt coins for the long term in case one of them takes off in the future.

Yea pretty interested to see where BTC goes from here. Been on a big run the last few days but we're reaching the previous breaking point.

First, thanks for the thread and everyone who contributed. Tons of great advice and info

So I jumped in on the 30th of May on Coinbase. Bought into the big 3 on there, but mainly Ether and BC. However, my wallet is still not showing the transaction is pending yet my bank account shows the funds transferred days ago. Anyone know what's taking so long?

You aren't doing anything wrong.

Maybe try logging out and restarting polo.

How long did it take for your coins to transfer? It's been about 10 minutes and I still don't see them in polo.

It should tell you on Coinbase when you can expect them to transfer over. Mine took over a week and it was a couple days after I saw the money taken out of my bank account.

My transfers from coinbase to Gemini usually take about 2 minutes. Gemini to bittrex was about the same. Maybe a little longer.

Got my coins today. So if I want to buy some stratis or golem do I need to convert the ETH into BTC and then transfer to Bittrex or Polo? Any recommendations?

If you want GNT, you don't have to convert to BTC. Polo has an ETH/GNT pair.
