Where are you seeing that? I swapped ETH for like $20 yesterday on CB
Posted on 5/11/21 at 9:32 am to castorinho
"ETH 2.0" is supposed to reduce fees. this has been promised and then pushed back since 2018, so im not sure they can give you a timetable on when its going to be implemented
there are other chains that are cheaper and do essentially the same things that ETH can do, but who knows if they will be adopted to the degree that we see with ETH

I'm not super informed here but isn't the London thing that's happenign in July significantly decrease the gas fees?
allegedly
right now the gas is extremely high because of all the shitcoins being built on eth right now, so im guessing this is a temporary spike
(most of these coins are all dog themed)

Nicehash predict will earn 3K this year from mining on their medium setting. About ten dollars a day using 73W which amounts to like ten cents a day of energy
I can dig it

as far as the 12% return on stablecoins...am I understanding right that I can just use regular us dollars from my checking account and buy USDC with it, then have it sit there in celsius and make 12% interest on it? That almost sounds like a "too good to be true" situation..waht's the catch?
no catch but understand the rates can be changed at anytime.

How exactly does staking work?
you buy the specific token or coin that you want to staek. You offer it to the company you are using as a staked coin(usually have to keep for a certain time to start getting rewards). You then receive an APY back usually in more of the token you are staking.
so lets say you have 10 btc and you plan to hold long term. Instead of leaving in a nano ledger or on CB, you move to Celsius. You earn 6.2% On this while you coins are just sitting there. When you remove the coins, the coins are worth the price at that time plus you will have grown the sats through the APY.

yup. as long as the contango trade exists the yield will stay high. currently, its about ~20% annualized, this used to be ~35% back in march.

You're jumping in at some of the most profitable days we've had over the past 6 months.
That profit will probably jump down to a couple bucks a day next week

*HUNGARY TO CUT TAX ON CRYPTOCURRENCY EARNINGS BY 50% FROM 2022
^ this is where the game theory comes into play. countries will be incentivized to have advantageous tax regulations or people will just leave and live elsewhere.
smaller countries have a real opportunity here

I'm now getting into NFTs (thanks to you, actually
quote:Yeah cashing out in CB is fine. Swapping is a big issue right now. If you're moving less than 2 ETH, that's a massive %.
