I think wolfram alpha is integrated with bitcoin, etheruem, cardano, and tezos. Which would make link not a necessity.

agree the LINK community is strong and they make memes, but I wouldn't group them anywhere near meme status...and I think the chart seems to indicate this it is something much different...IMO.

4chan and Twitter are loaded with chainlink memes. it's slightly more sophisticated than doge and xrp but when the shillers claim this space wouldn't exist without link and that it will be bigger than eth/btc someday, it's hard to take it too seriously

with that said , it's pretty clear they're trying to pivot into something that makes the link token worth it's valuation. they've hired flashy academics and marketed chainlink 2.0, as another layer of trust on top of the first layer of trust. but at the end of the day trusted parties is debatably not even crypto and middleware can be implemented on top of the first layer of any blockchain.

this could take decades to play out in any meaningful way and as long as they can continue to throw money into the project it's not going away
most investors are just aping into these tokens cluelessly and I see no signs of that stopping anytime soon

A couple interesting articles from reuters today (I'll give you shorter version so you don't have to read through it all)

EBay says open to accepting to cryptocurrencies in future, exploring NFTs

The article above was vague and did not mention specific Cryptos or NFT but was saying Ebay is open to exploring this option, which would be big in further Crypto adoption.

Digital Dollar Project to launch five U.S. central bank digital currency pilots

The above article mentions five pilot programs will be launch to test use case of CBDC (central bank digital currency) in the US. These five pilots will be from the private sector

It also mentioned that Fed is/will be closely working with MIT building a technology platform for digital dollar and research of functional uses/benefits of digital dollar.

They mention promoting a discussion
quote:

incorporating U.S. values such as privacy and freedom of commerce and speech into the development of CBDCs.

please do

lots of things are gaining steam, so who knows. If they feel like they could get paid a value of X dollars today in Crypto which would be worth more a year from now, rather than hodl on to a possibly devaluing USD, who knows what any company is thinking and may decide going forward?

What is causing this surge in ETH? Are we a little ways a way from 2.0?

i personally believe its lack of faith in US dollar and policies forcing more and more to open to the possibility of DEFI.

this same rotation happened in 2017

btc blow off top
eth blow off top -we are here
alt szn

not sure if the same pattern will repeat but seems likely

but i am not sure btc and eth have really finished the top blow off yet based on market share. currently at the very very top range of the beginning of alt season based on previous cycles....as BTC.D is now at 48.03 which is down almost 2% in last 24 hours. But I think we have a second dominant factor adn that is the rise of ETH which is currently at 16.8.

I think for a real alt season to begin, you need BTC around 40 and ETH at 10 or below for a full market cap dominance of less than 50%.
