Peter Thiel is a smart guy and maybe he is correct partially in his assertion because many nations are competing on the global front. China is up there in world powers. Crytpo is trading worldwide by many many people and institutions and probably is under the influence to some degree by nation states. It probably is not helping the USD much when the US prints tons of money and sends it to people who are trying to figure out how not lose value but rather increase it relative to a vastly increasing and abundant fiat supply.

if the USA was smart they’d be buying some BTC and using it as a treasury reserve asset with the potential of one day issuing their notes with it as a backing

Nah, I'm probably diversified across 30 different coins, including BTC & ETH, I should mention. I don't put any more than $100 into a speculative purchase that will net me at least 100k tokens. They've all taken off from there.

behind the scenes it does appear that the us is aware of this considering they've been allowing states tax incentives for mining bitcoin
I've brought this up before, but there has to be some underlying reason cnbc talks about bitcoin every single day

i dipped my toe in yesterday and invested $3000 to see how things go. so far, ive had a 4.6% ROI. i love how crypto can be traded 24/7. i got eth and litecoin

would be cool if all securities could be traded 24/7
feel like DeFi can accomplish this

Comparatively, that's precisely the case. Laugh all you want. I saw practically no movement in my money when I was invested solely in Coinbase offerings.
How long has LINK stayed within $32-28? XLM just finally started moving after how long?

This country is fricked if they don't realize soon that buying bitcoin is the way to go

Damn, VET with another ATH today.

But how long have you had your money in BTC or ETH? Those two have outperformed anything on the DJ.
Go look at the three year charts for each then come back to me.

I've already said, I'm only 3 months into monkeying with all of this.
In 2018, you'd have been a fool not to put money into BTC. Hell, spring of 2015 it was $300.
My point was one of analogy. Maybe the swing from $60-51k is plenty volatile for some people. BTC is a thing, and will continue to be a thing, and if it goes to $100k, then those of us with even a little bit of it will all benefit. I'm not saying BTC isn't worth the time, just that the average retail investor who's treating it like a lottery ticket or hand of blackjack isn't going to see crazy gains with it like many previously experienced.

Gotcha. If you want to get into trading low market-cap altcoins, An Altcoin Traders Handbook by Nik Patel is highly recommended.

The real money in crypto appears to be in opportunities for altcoins that haven't blown up yet. Once it makes it to Voyager/Crypto.com/Coinbase, the moon shot potential is gone.
Uhhh, I 1st got in ADA on Crypto.com sub $0.10 and VET $0.015.
I mean sure, you cannot buy EVERY shite coin out there. If buying absolute shite is your goal, then fine, but to say you cant find coins that haven't blown up is false.
Bull runs have everyone looking "smart". I am investing in crypto in projects that can still easily 10,20,30,40X over years. I dont like risking my money for every shite coin out there.

How is this possible? BTC was sub 9K less than a year ago.....

I'm sorry but this is sounding very amateurish. 100K of a token is meaningless without understanding of total coins and market cap. For example, if you doubled the amount of BTC that could be mined, the current price would be half of what it is today, yet the total market cap would be the same.
You are better to look at, if this is your sole goal, where can my $100 have the greatest X return. Simply buying something that yields 100K coins is not the way to go about it.

Its quite amazing how many people dabbling in crypto have no clue how circulating supply affects price.

Dude, just stop lol. Anyone who got into BTC in 2018 and stayed is sitting fat baw.

They will 100% see better returns over the next X years than sitting in the ever devaluing dollar.
