Iam excited precisely because we do not know what we have created, and more importantly, what you and your friends will create with it. My belief is that terms like “Bitcoin 2.0” and “Web 3.0” will be inadequate?—?it will be a new thing, with new ideas and new culture embedded in a new software platform. Each new medium changes the message: blogging brought long form writing back, and then twitter created an environment where brevity was not only the soul of wit, but by necessity its body also. Now we can represent simple agreements as free speech, as publication of an idea, and who knows where this leads. Ethereum Frontier is a first step: it’s a platform for programmers to build services you might access through a web browser or a phone app. Later we’ll release Ethereum Metropolis, which will be a web browser like program, currently called Mist, which takes all the security and cryptography inherent in Ethereum and packages it nicely with a user interface that anybody can use. The recent releases of Mist showcase a secure wallet, and that’s just the start. The security offered by Mist is far stronger than current e-commerce systems and phone apps have. In the medium term, contract production systems will be stand-alone, so nearly anybody can download a “distributed application builder” and load it up with their content and ideas and upload it?—?for simple things, no code will be required, but the full underlying power of the network will be available. Think along the lines of an installation wizard, but instead of setting up your printer, you are configuring the terms of a smart contract for a loan: how much money, how long, what repayment rates. Click OK to approve! If this sounds impossible, welcome to our challenge: the technology has gotten far, far ahead of our ability to explain or communicate the technology!
Since you won't click the link and actually learn, I copied a small portion.
If it's too much to ask for you to read, maybe someone will create you an audio file.

That's insane. I'm not sure how I got in so quickly.

Well I got in on Coinbase in seconds back in April so I guess I had it coming.

Are you trying to say ETH has a monopoly on blockchain technology.
Oh yea. I read the article. Its great hype and all. Still no even remote proof for why its value is when it currently is, because once again you have no idea.

Come back and bash us when we lose all our money but until then it's hard to hear you over the roar of our Lambos.

We get it: you think it's too volitale and shouldn't be touch. Some of us are willing to take the risks.

Rocket wants to act like this isn't a gamble. Like its a stone cold lock. Which isn't surprising for someone that trades penny stocks.

You are so out of your element in this thread on so many levels. But It's ok Barry. I'll buy you a sweet golf cart.

It has basically no tangible value at the moment. What it does have is potential future value if the hard tech is ever created to make this stuff a viable platform for the world to utilize.
The current long-term investors in ETH believe that someday this hard technology will be invented and when that day comes, Ethereum will have immense value (certainly far exceeding its current $20B market cap).

This is frighteningly misguided.

If you think he's saying it's a lock, you haven't read this thread or his responses. You're bouncing between the technology and market and confusing yourdelf.

Definitely not going to disclose that. Barry thinks I'm playing with nickels and dimes. My crypto fun has been shattered.

Rocket asked why the haters only came during dips. I felt obliged to respond.

Thats not it at all. I have no problem with risk as long as is properly rewarded. What i find amusing is people throwing out statements like its not a gamble because they read a fricking medium article. If someone on here said "This is a giant risk and im ok with losing every penny i put in but i have believe this COULD be something big". Instead we have rocket telling me "I don't understand the tech" and he made his investment decision off some dumbed down medium article.

Yeah I believe in ETH but I'm definitely not in agreement there
