I was one of the lucky folks with southern fidelity which is now belly up. My current agent sucks and has not yet found an alternative.

Coworker was in same boat. Got best rate from Liberty Mutual.

I live near BR but got my homeowner's through Continental in NOLA. Great service.
My gf had used them in NOLA and Madisonville.
Good luck!

What sucks is my premium was only $1,800...it's going to be painful having to get a more reputable insurance company

Bayou Insurance services , although no matter who you call your options are likely slim

I have a friend who is an agent on the Northshore and he is swamped. He claims he has 300 people that he is trying to get insured.

I work with Theresa @ Capstone and I have been very impressed. I got the cancellation Notice from Maison and bound coverage with Safeco within a few hours.

Safeco is now declining about 90% of the quotes that are run

Liberty classified property over a mile+ from the lake as coastal catastrophe property just like a half dozen remaining insurers

Why not just call and get quotes yourself?

We’ve had good luck with progressive, used to be ASI

My agent gave me some incredibly shitty deal so I went with USAA.

Liberty Mutual wouldn't cover me despite being miles from the lake. Good luck, it got expensive.

This should slow down, as a lot of folks have mid-July deadlines to get new insurance after some of these companies went belly-up

Ya, I didnt notice or get notice that anything drastic was happening with my insurance with progressive.
Although, after seeing what the past couple storms did to my neighborhood, Id feel comfortable dropping flood if it doubled in price.

If you qualify, check out USAA. That is who I just went with after mine stopped writing.
