Fixing to move in the next 6 months. Won’t be moving alot but I would rather use a pod as oppose to a U haul for convenience purposes. How pricey is this? I will be moving 600 miles.

You could have gone online and found out in the same time you posted here.

They are more expensive than U-Haul but way less hassle. The cubes are smaller than you think too. Generally, unless you have really nice stuff, sell as much as you can and buy new when you move. It’s not worth the money to move old shite.

I did pack rat I believe where they bring you a pod with a cage in it and then they store it for you and bring to your destination. Probably a couple hundred s month for storage and then another couple hundred to move it. I can’t remember exact figures. The only downside is all the dust that collects on your stuff from being in the warehouse. It was a better alternative than moving everything in to storage and having to load and unload multiple times until our house was built.
You can request quotes from any of the vendors. Someone will call you almost immediately to talk if I remember correctly.

Don't remember the price, but my experience was the pod stored way more than i expected. You pack every crevice of that thing all the way to ceiling. We put just about a whole house for family of 4 in one a few years ago. Best part about it was being able to load a bit at a time since you pay monthly.

Reminds me of my roommate after college. Rented an air conditioned storage unit for $180/mo for a year to store useless crap and old furniture that wasn’t worth the $2,000 he paid to rent the unit.

As another poster mentioned, you can either go online of give them a call for a quote.
I recall doing this for my mom in 2018. Move from La. to TX.
Recall reasonable pricing and they have a list of movers/packers that they recommend. Guys packed an entire house into one cube which included a sit down mower (gas out).
Stored it for roughly a year just under $200/mth.
Keep in mind that this was pre-Covid and current inflation so expect pricing to be higher; nevertheless, the peace of mind was well worth it.
Finally, don't attempt at packing yourself. Hire one of the recommended professionals. They will use every inch of that cube.
