No telling how the market opens in New York Monday morning but at least the futures are a little encouraging Sunday afternoon.

Markets are about psychology more than anything else.

We haven't had any new curveballs, good or bad. Everything is based on expectations of when the crisis will end.

DJ futures up 445 points now after quote of the day by Dr. Fauci during President Trump’s COVID task force press briefing, “I believe I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Eta: Futures now UP 600 points.

I know its still early, but this virus almost looks like a nonevent in much of the country. The death toll in California, Florida and Texas combined is under 1,000.

I can see the ultimate death toll in line with a bad flu season (40-60K deaths). I think the market will quickly figure this out.

Market gained over 3% last Monday and we all know how that week ended.

It’s a good thing what happened last week doesn’t determine what happens tomorrow.

I want to say it figured that out a couple weeks ago, I’ve been preaching it at least.

I think it’s more concerned now about how long this damn shut down is going to last. We are self destructing this economy currently.

Yes sir!

I am telling you people this virus overreaction is utter nonsense and the market is going to figure it out very quickly.

The overreaction will end in May/June when Americans realize they have been had.

It’s probably a combination of overreaction and realism. A shutdown means a shift in money somewhere. The government is sending out checks and lowering interest rates and small businesses are strapped for cash and some people are out of work. There’s a lot of things happening.

Is it -9K of loss to the DJI worth of things? Maybe, maybe not. But I doubt we get back to 29K in June/July. Maybe between 25-27K by the fall would be my guess. But then again, maybe who knows.

Our experts think we are close to the bottom of a V curve for the markets. Still heading down a U curve for the economy.

Since your company is speculating, V on the down slope still or have we bottomed and are on the up slope?
