If your looking for an MBA that you want to learn and have professors who are willing to actually teach, id like elsewhere. Meeks and shaugneesy are the only ones who have videos of their own and go out of their way to make it a good learning experience.

Wow. I'm sorry you feel that way. I feel like most of the professors want to teach. The information is certainly there to learn. Is it perfect? No. However, in my 8 classes I've not gotten the impression that the teacher just didn't care.

The nature of an online MBA is that you have to be self motivated. This is no different. We happened to be in the program during a time of unprecedented growth. There have been some bumps, but I still feel like I've gotten a great deal out of the program.

My discussion grade is in. Was docked for in-text citation listing author's last name instead of last name, first and middle initial. Guess I'll need to be more careful :-)

@Dilly Time. I thought the proper APA was only last name and date for in-text citation. The reference list must have all that you listed but in text citation should not as I understand it. Maybe I am wrong.

Hi Multis10,

My experience thus far has been different from yours. I'm taking econ summer AP2 with Shaungnessy and have heard great things and agree with you on Meeks. I'll also add that I found Ambrosio (ACCT) and currently taking Vines (FIN) to be excellent professors too. They genuinely care about the students succeeding and provide lots of Zoom sessions to help. I've been a corporate executive for years and feel that I'm learning and challenged in this program. AACSB certification requires meeting a level of standards and for the price, this program is incredible.

Just like any other university, there's a mixture of great, ok, and poor professors, but at LSUS I've found more of the great in proportion to the requirements to complete. I recommend the program and have a few family members thinking about it too.

Hello,

I received my undergrad in a STEM discipline from one of the top fifteen national public universities. The professors at LSUS are much better teachers than most of my undergrad professors, and they are also much more willing to engage with students and answer questions.

The work at LSUS is far more challenging than I thought that it would be, but it is nowhere near as difficult as my undergrad. My undergrad experience was such that I usually had one to two assigned texts and three to four other texts used for supplemental information. LSUS has switched to using electronic texts, which I am not a big fan of, but they are adequate in most cases. Some professors will reference printed texts in their notes. From my experience as an undergrad, I learned to interpret that as a hint to get a copy ASAP. I have found that approach to be very helpful in the LSUS program as well. Professors aren't going to take time to give you information unless they think that it is important.

Grading at LSUS is based on strict ranges of A=90%+, B=80 to <90, C=70 to <80. Get a D, and you are out of the program. I love the grading system here. I got really tired of classes graded on a curve where I would knock out 97% and only get a B-.

Some professors at LSUS like to interact with students more than others. Students that need a lot of interaction to be successful don't seem to view the professors that interact less frequently in a favorable light. I am in my last class of the program, and I have had classes with most of the professors that people complain about the most. I do not have any complaints about any of my professors, except for the typical ones about the unreasonableness of the length of the deliverables and deadlines that everyone seems to have.

If you decide to enter the LSUS program you will work hard, and you will be challenged. Just remember that you get out what you put in.

Good luck with whichever program you decide on pursuing!

I earned my B.Sc from Robert H. Smith school of business at Maryland. Currently, I am in the MBA program at LSUS. After all of this education, I am seriously concerned that Universities have become nothing more than businesses looking to cash in.

Hey Rivermonsters87, Go Terps!

Universities are businesses, the more reputable ones seem to be non-profit businesses. Students are customers, although a lot of Universities don't seem to treat them as such.

LSUS is using Blue Sky Strategy to create exceptional customer value by providing a great education a low cost. They are focusing on providing services to price-sensitive customers that are not willing to pay $100K+ for a MBA.

Have a great day and good luck on your exams and papers!

Does anyone about the two honor societies listed, Beta GAmma Sigma and/or Sigma Iota Epsilon, meaning can one just submit an application and apply for membership if you meet the criteria listed, or it is only if they send you an invite via email?

MKT tests aren't bad at all. This Application has been a bear trying to find information on regarding sensor info and then trying to apply to one of handful of products.

Haven't had a chance yet to start Project part 1

From what I’ve been told, you must be invited to join. You can expect to receive an invitation, if you’re eligible, during your last couple classes.

craig_miamifl I didn't do very well on exam 1 but I aced exam 2. I'm hoping the rest of them are like this last one. The application assignment was rough. When I posted mine I saw a a wide range of submissions in terms of thoroughness. It will be interesting to see how they are graded.

And yeah I haven't had a chance to start part 1 either. Kicking myself for taking MADM 752 with marketing....

I was just happy to see some people not have "500 words per question". I almost fell out of my seat when she even mentioned that. I'd venture that many of us knew next to nothing about sensors a few days ago.

I wound up pairing MADM720 with this MKT course. That course has been really straight forward so far and not real time consuming. I'm just hoping to escape well enough on these MKT written assignments to get through this course. Just 5 more weeks

MKT701

500 words per question? Did she say that in one of those zoom sessions? I had enough trouble with the workload this week that I didn't listen to any them.

I struggled a bit with the application assignment, but I'm fairly happy with the final product I came up with. Outside the frustrations of day to day workload management, this is a pretty cool demonstration of how to develop a product. Marketing and R&D work together quite closely at my company, so this was an eye opener.

I'm definitely feeling behind, as I started working on the project part one last night and realized just how much work is involved. She's not kidding about spending 3 hours a day on this thing.

You aren't the only one feeling behind in MKT 701. I haven't had a chance to start on the project either. After reading the Application Forum assignment for Module 3, I'm not sure when I'll get to the project. This class is frustrating to say the least.

The typos on the readings, assignment instructions, exams, etc. are really starting to bother me as well. The course seems like it was thrown together at the last minute.

FYI for those of you finishing up during the Summer, check your email. Just received an email about filling out the actual graduation application. Got mine submitted. 5 more weeks!

I just emailed mine to the registrar's office this morning before that email went out. Nice timing on that, as I got in before the rush.

Now, I just need to survive the next 5 weeks of MKT701 with at least a C (and preferably an A).

If I get through this MKT course I plan on graduating after AP2. May attend the graduation ceremony in December if able to.

@mtntreks She mentioned the 500 words/question as a guideline during one of her Zooms. She said she was hesitant to put a word requirement on them but threw out that #.

@Cajun I'm thinking about just skimming Mod 3 material and working the Project/Application this week. Not saying I'll punt this Module 3 but I'm going to have to put less time into it to get done with the Project next Friday. The tests have been easy enough so far and we do get to drop the lowest score. (Along with it being less points than Application and Project)

Is the graduation ceremony Tues Aug 28?
That's when they'll send out the diplomas I believe, but there's no commencement for Summer graduates. If you'd like to walk, you'll have to wait for Fall commencement, which is December 16th at 2pm.

I'm seriously considering finding another Marketing class at another university and taking it. I was under the impression that the Forums were every other week. Has she lost her mind? I was fully expecting the big project, I just didn't realize that she didn't allow time for you to even work on it. To top it off, I was talking to a guy that took the same class a few sessions ago from James and he said he didn't have the massive two part assignment, only a group assignment. Why me.

Oh and I have 100% in the class right now. It's not like I'm a slacker.

She doesn't seem to have the concept that people do have careers outside this course. I'm going to stick it out and get it finished up. I'm not going to enjoy marketing any more taking it elsewhere. She has the graders doing all the leg work for her. I was surprised at another application this week too. I'm just going to focus most my time on the project.

The quality of my work might not be great (i.e. see my first application project) and I might not get the A I want but I'm just ready to finish the program at this point.

I'd stick it out. Only <5 more weeks left.
