I was considering MADM 730 as well. However, I haven't pulled the trigger because it looks like that class is not accepted as an elective for the General MBA degree, which is odd. If you specialize in Data Analytics or Project Management (and probably others), it counts as an elective. Just a head's up.

FYI to the group - there is 1 opening in Shaughnessy's ECON 705 class for Spring AP2. That won't last long.

@Jasons_MBA, I def confirmed this with my graduate coordinator, Danielle Voumard. I specifically asked her about ISDS 715, ISDS 710 & MADM 730. She said they all are acceptable as MBA electives. She said they are in the process of updating their info to reflect this. I specifically needed to know because before you graduate, you have to submit a "request for degree checkout" (done thru Moodle) and you have to state when you intend to graduate. They evaluate and reconcile your classes to see if you are in compliance. Normally moodle will do a preliminary evaluation but the reason I contacted her was because Moodle wasn't recognizing any of these classes. She went on to say that for now, I can use her email response to me stating that those classes are acceptable and before classes start I should be done with the degree checkout which will serve as iron clad assurance. By that time, these new classes should be updated as well. For your own benefit/assurance, I'd suggest contacting your coordinator to confirm as well, just to be on the safe side

I decided to go ahead and add MKT 705 as my elective. Hopefully it will be pretty interesting

Switched MKT701 from James to TBA. Hope I don't come up snake eyes...

I had my eye on that class too, maybe it's because I was daydreaming about getting a job at the MGM(Washington, DC).

As of now there are only 35 students registered for it. This will be class 9/10 for me and it can't get here any sooner

Good to know. During the break, I may spend some time researching what kind of management job opportunities, within the casino industry, exists in the DC area.

Okay, here's the problem. I want to take his course, but I enrolled in the program after January 2014.
ECON 705 L S U S TBA/TBA 1D 03/12/18 04/28/18 TBA - T B A 9 Shaughnessy, Timothy M
Special Designators: 100% Online Course.
This class is not for MBA students admitted after Jan 2014

You're looking at the 1D class. It is not for us. You should register for AP1 or AP2 classes. Last night there was one opening for ECON 705 in AP2. It's not there now, so someone grabbed it. Keep an eye out, you never know when an opening will pop up.

Hey Luke14, try emailing your graduate coordinator and tell her that really need to be in that class, she MAY be able to manually put you in, "may" is the key word. Good-luck!

Is there an area of this thread or perhaps a different thread altogether comparing/contrasting the LSUS MBA against the LSU Flores Online MBA program?
I'm sure it's been asked before, but 200+ pages is a lot to pick through.
Thanks in advance.

The biggest difference I noticed was the cost. The LSU Online MBA is $1100/credit hour and there are 42 credit hours. After seeing it was going to be $46k+ fees and books I decided it wasn't for me.

With the mgm casino opening last November should be some oppurtunity

If you are too lazy to do a simple google search to discern the differences, you prob shouldn’t be contemplating going to grad school.

That’s the benefit of a forum - it’s a true exchange of information. Reading an article may provide you with information, but it often leaves you with questions that cannot easily be asked to the content creator. Additionally, there may be questions others have asked that I haven’t considered, and I would hold those in great value.
I read why LSU says theirs is better, and I also read why LSUS believes their program is strong. But I bet every kitchen from here to there would say their product is superior. Maybe it would be better to gather that information from unbiased sources?
Anyway, thanks for your input, pussy.

That type of language isn’t necessary.
