Sorry had mu on my mind.
Lrcx is yes a little China as well but also some comments on lower cap ex from the chip makers which I think are a little overblown or misunderstood. Plus they are tied to the sector through etf’s and algo trading.
Lam is increasing some sticky things like services and also taking market share. Unfortunately they don’t have earnings until end of October, I’m not sure if they have any analyst days or presentations before then. The stock has 19 strong buys its a target of $237 for what that is worth.
I’m also very confident in the management and how this company is run. Huge amounts of free cash flow, good dividend with a recent large increase but low payout ratio, increasing market share like I mentioned. So that’s my investment thesis basically. This stuff isn’t going anywhere, will just have a high beta that you have to have the stomach to ride through.

Gotcha. I have no intention of getting rid of it. I really want to get more. Not sure where the bottom is right now, though. I knew earnings were coming up in October, so hoping that will bump it up some. Appreciate the insight!

There are some good articles on seeking alpha that are unfortunately behind the paywall now that deal with the China issue. I have to look for the info myself, but it is not a huge portion of their revenue. Also Fcf doubled from 2013 to 2015 and then again to 2017, even after increased cap ex.

Whats everybodys take on PQG (PQ Group Holdings Inc) stock in this same sector?

I don’t believe that PQG is in the technology equipment sector, unless I’m missing something

Fidelity told me that im way to concentrated in one sector and it called out PQG and LRCX. PQG is not so much tech but produces beads for road striping and equipment type stuff.

If I thought it was at the bottom, I’d buy more now. For the moment, I’m content to hold onto what I have and just wait it out.
