I've been in Tesla for several years and it's currently listed as one of the most overvalued stocks. It's down a chunk today, would you buy more or take the profits and get back in later?

Just my simple opinion, Tesla is here to stay.
The stock may be overvalued today but today’s price will be likely undervalued 10-15 years from now.

Depends on your investment horizons. There are better plays out there for the short term but I don’t think you will lose keeping your Tesla stock for the long term.

Hasn’t it been for years though?

Everyone keeps taking about it tanking but it doesn’t (or hasn’t yet)

I've had it since $40 and it's become a sizeable % of my portfolio so a 7% drop this week in TSLA hs become significant. It's been a fun ride this year and I'd like to keep it all, but I was looking for opinions. It's in what started as a "fun money" account many years ago, but it's become real money this year growing >300% over the last 12 months and I'm not getting any younger (50).

Thanks to all for advice.

It's OK to sell some off if it's become too much of your portfolio.

Rebalancing is key, especially as you get closer to retirement.

I’ve got a whopping 1 share, but also have exposure in ARKK, ARKW, and ARKQ. Trying to decide if I should cash in the single share of TSLA and spread it into other holdings.

If your position has grown to where a correction in the stock will have you up nights worrying about it, then it’s probably time to sell some of the stock. You don’t have to sell all of it. Its a good problem to have.

For what it’s worth, this market is very over extended. Some say historically so and Tesla is one of the stocks leading the charge. The risk to reward is diminishing for stocks like Tesla.

I think it’s a long play. However I sold mine 3 weeks ago. I think it’s due for a down turn just because it’s been all up lately.

Tesla is a legit company though. Cars aren’t the end game. Those battery packs will be running houses once they figure out how to make solar panels efficient enough to make a house off grid.

I actually think they already have them efficient enough and cheap enough to run a house completely but their install cost are way to high. If they can streamline the process to just the replacement cost of a new roof every house will be solar powered within 25 years
