I electronically filed on Feb 10. Simple return. How long does it normally take to be approved? I checked the states website and all it says is pending approval.

I filed on March 2nd and received it on the 14th.
Last year I think it took from early February to until May though.

I would call the state. Should have been processed by now.

I had the same problem with my state returns last year, but received my Federal in 2 -3 weeks via direct deposit. If you requested direct deposit it should have been in your account by late February or 1st week of March easily.
You should call the number on the website to inquire about any issues with your return information. I may have called & emailed, but I can't remember.
Like the above poster it took me 3 or 4 months(May or June) to receive my state returns as it was so small($80 or so) I really hadn't bothered to check if I had received it until a couple months had passed.

I filed in mid Feb and had my return about a month later.
Last year on the other hand, I filed in Feb and got my return in July. I swore an audit was coming, but never did.

I filed mine in late Feb and got mine back last week. They sent me a letter (2 weeks ago)for me to go online to verify my identity/residence which required me to take this 5 question quiz verifying that info. Check your mail for a letter from the LDR which will instruct you how you proceed. Once I took the quiz, I got my refund the next week.

The state approved my electronic return in 2 days.

Side Question since we have a thread here.
My taxes are relatively simple, and I had a $600 refund this year. I've already changed up my Fed allowances to further optimize it towards being even, but its a lot harder to find the same info for State returns.
Any off the cuff suggestions of allowances I could claim for state to get near zeroed out? I'll at least do one, as I imagine that can't hurt.

From what I understand, it takes 4-6 weeks; however, there is always the chance you reported something incorrectly and it's hung up somewhere.
Not that I would know anything about any of this.

This doesn't hurt either. If you call the correct people, they can let you know why it hasn't been processed.
Yet again, really don't know anything about any of this.

Only if she has check mailed to her .If it's a direct deposit(that's what I am assumed) should be 2 -3 weeks & she should call & inquire why is it delayed. A
Ask Representative does she need to provide any additional information/details to her returns .

Always remember, LDR is a governmental organization. Nothing should be 2-3 weeks.

Teddy, if you dont mind me asking, how do you consider and log your allowances? I am in a similar situation. I want to get some return at years end but don't want to just hand over the maximum income tax to the government since I know they don't know how to properly spend my money. What has worked for you? FRom what i've seen allowances of 1 or 2 seem to work best. Is this true?

I did one allowance last year on Fed and still got nearly 2k, so I'm going with 2 this year. If you Google Federal withholding allowance turbo tax, they have an article titled making your pocket bigger or something which has a nice guideline chart on how many allowances you could probably claim and be OK.

Thanks Poodle. Figured I'd probably have to math it.
Any suggestions for CPAs in NO? I'll probably need one in the next few years. Not sure where you're located.
