KEMET Announces Investment in Novasentis
KEMET Corporation (the "Company" or "KEMET") (NYSE:KEM), a leading global supplier of passive electronic components, and Novasentis, a leading developer of film based haptic actuators, today announced that KEMET Electronics Corporation ("KEC"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of KEMET, has invested in Novasentis's Series-D round of funding. Novasentis makes the world's thinnest, electro mechanical polymer based actuators that provide rich haptic feedback for a variety of applications including AR/VR and Wearables. Novasentis supplies its "smart" film and KEMET applies its expertise in manufacturing film capacitors, to the development and commercial production of the actuators.
Dr. Philip Lessner, KEMET's Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, commented, "The Novasentis technology allows for unprecedented functionality in haptic actuators, both due to its ultra-thin profile and small size, which allows it to be incorporated into the widest variety of wearables and virtual reality applications, and its ability to provide a variety of tactile sensations." KEC will now be represented on Novasentis' board of directors.
"We have been working with KEMET since 2015, to commercialize our haptic technology and they have been delivering high quality pilot scale volume since last year." Says Francois Jeanneau, President and CEO of Novasentis. "KEMET's investment in our company is a testament to the value being created by our unique technology."

Can you explain the earning of $0.52 per share?
EPS is the earnings left over for shareholders divided by the number of outstanding shares. Some companies will pay dividends on it while others will reinvest it.
quote:
How does that translate to what it will actually start trading for?
Earnings drive pricing along with a few other indicators. A few things can happen with a earnings report that beats expectations by this much. McDonald's killed earnings this month but shot down because of sell offs due to people taking profits. That doesn't mean their value is less than what it was before. CAT had the same thing happen but hasn't recovered because maybe it was overvalued or their forecasts wasn't favorable. With Netflix the price shot up after their earnings because people felt like it still had room to grow further.
That's greatly oversimplifying it but there are tons of videos and reading you can do to get a better understanding. I am a horrible teacher so I advise to take some time and do some reading to understand more.

Sweet, thanks.
I’ve been told to always reinvest my dividends if the company pays them. You buy into that?
It what I opted to do when I bought KEM the other day.

Bro coming with the bag! Thanks for this one man. Got in yesterday around noon @20.19.
Do we have a group on here for those types of trades? Or is the money board as a whole that group?

Don't get excited just yet. Looks like it will be a typical Thursday as everything is heading towards red this morning. Will be adding to my KEM position if I can.

Will be doing the same.
I think DRN ETF is a great buy right now. Currently selling at 19.67 with potential to reach ~23-25$. Take a look at the 1Y and 5Y charts and I think you'd agree this is a no brainer.

And it plummets....
If my money today clears I’ll buy more.

I bought 21 more shares at $19.30. I was hoping it’d bottom out but it went down $.50 more. Drove my average down to $20.06. Sucks but oh well.
Should have waited. $18.53 now.

Bought 200 more at $18.58

I'm not even worried. With such a strong earnings quarter, this dip cannot be a trend. Everything is down today.

Looking at the volume, there were three big spikes within 10 minutes of each other all selling 100k shares. It may have just been profit taking on the higher opening price.

Bought 100 more at 19.25. Average now 19.85. Placed another order for more in low 18's if it falls some more.

I bought about 50 more shares when it was mid 18s. I'm now at 100 shares. I'm going to hold for a while. This company seems to have nothing but positive news in my research.
Good job Stout. Thanks.
