$89/bbl is a fair price.

Coming from someone who voted for Trump 3x, I really can’t understand how some of you idiots think the man does no wrong and can’t see what a giant disaster this second term has been. The self aggrandizement, starting this unnecessary war, the constant lies, and acting like a complete buffoon in general is a sight to behold and some of yall are content to stick your heads in the sand to it all.

Forgot the constant market manipulation and insider trading going on.

We have covered this before, if you start with "3x", you have already lost the argument.

The premise you are trying to present, should not be dependent on your voting pattern.

$70-$80 is ideal for global economy, while we Americans prefer it cheaper.

We have had about 5 years since 2000 with it above $100. 2008 it was $186 a barrel, in 2026 dollars.

$89 is not really a thing to lose sleep about, but at the same time not ideal.

How so? I was a supporter and his completely brainless behavior the last 2yrs has turned me completely off. If you can’t see the complete disaster that this is, I don’t know what to say. I’d still vote for him over any democrat, but this has been horrible.

No one is doomed over the price of oil, Drama Queen.

But it is a dependable indicator of whether or not the international oil markets believe the Iran conflict is over.

And THAT was what my comment addressed relative to STDTiger’s claim that other poster’s were wrong about the conflict not being over on Friday.

Grow up, Karen.

I wonder if trump would start this conflict if he could go back in time.
100% .... though "start this conflict" is obviously a matter of debate.

Iran, like Venezuela, has a major China underpinning. E.g., The rumor was Xi intended to notify Trump in their originally scheduled March meeting that China would be taking Taiwan. It's highly likely that the cut off of vast amounts of Chinese petrol supply will take Taiwan off the table.

I don't know how this will work out.

But I do know Trump is a master deal-maker.
Compared with European leaders or even Xi, those skills are evident.

E.g., While, you wondered if Trump would have done the same thing, I wonder if the EU powers, or the UK, or India wish they'd have supported and cooperated with US efforts from the get-go. Their reticence encourages IRGC elements, giving hope of anti-American pressure from those sources, and prolonging IRGC antishipping activity in the strait. A unified front would have had the opposite effect, and given Homuz oil dependent states more direct input into management at this stage. Instead, they are sidelined nailbitting cucks. Not the position they'd like to be in.

In money terms and given the uncertainty, I'm surprised the markets have held up as well as they have through all of this.

If that were the case this whole episode wouldn’t have spiraled out of control the way it has, nor would he be so unhinged on socials. The Iranians are openly mocking him.

I am down 0.24% so far from my all time high I hit last Friday. I feel manipulated.

Quick look at WTI shows it at $86, which is down 13% over the past week.

Panic off now

Politics has replaced religion in the minds of so many and I think that’s a net negative effect for this country. Deifying politicians that are out there solely for their own personal gain is one of the most insane things I’ve ever witnessed.

Market can only be manipulated for so long, and when the music stops the result will be far worse than if things had just run its course.

Given this whole situation it’s an encapsulation of what a horses arse he’s been this entire second term. But go ahead and continue to worship at the foot of your orange messiah as he leads the country over the cliff.

Even though I’m a supporter in general, I can still call him out for the dumb shite that he’s been doing. In the eyes of so many, he can do no wrong.

I guess TDS skews folks enough to account for a statement like that, but my gosh you look foolish posting it.

The Dow is down 145. WTI is @ 87.
Seems like the markets don't share your expectation for catastrophe.
