If the chances of this going to $500 are real, then won't huge institutional money flow that direction, like today?

It's on their Trading Pro platform. Their algorithm predicts a price by a certain date. It's gone from $636 to over $900 in the last couple of weeks. Take it for what its worth, but keep in mind, the hedges with their billions use algos in an attempt to manipulate pricing. Computers buy and sell shares, up and down to get it to where they want it to be.

Add to the equation the fact that AMC is likely going to be one of the only national movie theater chains that survives the lockdowns. Regal is in worse shape that AMC was before the stock drama of 2021.

Already has been. Look at how much Blackrock and Vanguard bought just a few weeks ago. The number of institutional investors is going thru the roof. I've lost count, but it's a bunch.

Even better, Cinemark is half AMC size, and is trading at $20. What does that tell you about AMC? Undervalued!

Here's another tidbit. If AMC can close above $12 this Friday, 136K calls will expire in the money!

I hope I’m wrong and my opinion is not very valuable but I feel like this is too good to be true. This has been rumored and been playing out for way too long for the share price to jump 5000% on a day that we know about for a week ahead of time.

I guess the old saying ‘if it’s too good to be true, than it probably is’ is what’s burned in my mind. Again, I don’t know shite about what’s going to happen and I sure as hell have my little stash of AMC and hoping just like the rest of you, but I’m still about to log on to work and put in another 8-10 hours.

Good luck everyone. Hope we all end in GREEN!

Cinemark wasn't shorted like AMC. There's your big difference.

CNK market cap is 3B on 118M shares
AMC market cap is 4B on 340M shares

"but CNK trades at 20!"

c'mon man

All things being equal. Yes. Now explain AMC being $5.55 in the middle of February and CNK being $21 at the same time?

What do you think the true value of AMC shares should be? $11?
CNK $25?

its math

CNK trading at 20 has nothing at all to do with AMC's stock price. you stated a false equivalency...just pointing that out in jest. because CNK trades at 20 does not mean, in any way, that AMC is undervalued. market cap/shares outstanding = share price. AMC shares outstanding are 3x CNK

no position in either, no dog in the hunt

best of luck

At the end of the day, people and institutions buy stocks based on their opinion of it increasing in value. Regardless of the reason for the increase, everyone wants to make money. Ancient Tiger hit the nail on the head concerning GME. If I had only seen his post prior to the run-up, I would be sitting on millions right now.

I have a large position on AMC. Not because someone else told me to buy it, but because I delved into the reason why it would likely increase in value. To each their own, but as for me, I like the stock.

Comparing companies solely on share price shows a clear misunderstanding. So no

I am re-evaluating my target sell price of $20. I’d really hate to sell at $20 and this thing shoot to moon, but I also don’t want a BB scenario where I buy at $8, it shoots to $20 then falls back to $9 for months on end. Sell 1/3 at $20 and ride the rest to the moon?
