The great synthetic share count is about 46 million shares using the most favorable assumptions possible.

No names, but I was lead to believe it was in the range of 1-2 billion synthetic shares.

You can manipulate data to fit whatever narrative you want.

I’m saying this information blows up your entire hypothesis and you’re reaching for win.

You: There are likely billions of synthetic shares of AMC out there

AMC: There are less than 50 million synthetic shares, at best, in existence.

You: See, I told you there were a lot of synthetic shares out there.

HA! So Ortex was wrong today? Did you remember to stop the subscription?

Of course you can but Spin this particular set of data with retail owning 492m of 512m shares. I’ll wait.

ETA sorry 502M shares not 512M. My bad. Spin it abita!

My friend, it's 501,780,240 shares outstanding to be exact.

492 million owned by retail, then you have institutions and insider ownership.

If you hold, you are going to get a HUGE payday! It's not if, it's when!!!

Can you trade in AF? If you can, do you?

Most retailers with the ability, do not. Why? Volume is very low, and price is easily manipulated.

Hey I’m holding shares of AMC so I am nothing but on your side. I’m just saying that “you can’t spin math” is a false statement.

I thought Aron himself said 80% was held by retail.

More than 80% of AMC shares are held by a broad base of retail investors with an average holding of around 120 shares.

Can we ALL AGREE that since the algos have hijacked the markets and the Fed has meddled so much, the “market” is now a STRANGE frickin place to be?!?

ETA: Does ANYTHING even matter any longer as far as trading goes?!?

I get that, but based on the numbers conservatively 10% of the company is shorted with shares that simply don’t exist. And that’s based off current data. That doesn’t count what’s been happening over the previous few months.

Isn’t that A: illegal and B: kinda messed up?

Well for one, 10% is not conservatively, it’s actually the most aggressive number I could create. It’s entirely possible there are no synthetic shorts out there. The institutional shares and short shares are educated guesses based on old potentials data. There were 138 MM shares on loan on that day, so enough shares could have been secured to cover any shorts.

BTW, that 4.1 million retail shareholders is JUST IN THE USA AND CANADA! AMC is the largest theater chain in Europe and has shareholders worldwide!

It's way more than 10%! Ortex said just today, that there are over 100 million shares shorted. That is 20%!

Press release on Number of Retail Traders

so realistically at what point do we think this will reach?

87.68m reported on loan currently, of which 56.14m Short Interest or 10.98% short interest of the free. 82.35% Utilization. All estimates realistically.

The on loan data should be accurate. The short interest data is an estimate between the official reports.

So your "official share count" has not revealed an actual share count exposing the true amount of synthetic shares, as you've been claiming. If it had this math would be clear and agreed upon by everyone.

Color me shocked by this
