Good Lord boys, the language! Pittboss, I know you are not high on P D. I know you have land up there. I know you are a knowledgable OG guy. Can you please tell me who is interested in leasing/drilling up ther right now. I know it will be companies by and large who are not able to participate in the HS. But from what all of you guys up there have said, there is still CV apparently, etc. We are hearing 300-400 an acre tops. We are hearing about some solid good old fashion wells. I am simply asking anyone to share info on any action or talk of action, no matter how meager comparatively to HS.

Yes, there is always going to be action up that way now. The smaller companies who cannot compete with the high bonuses in the HS will have to look for a prospect outside the HS. The 300-400 acre stuff and some good old fashioned CV wells will not make you the multi-millionaires that people in south Caddo are becoming, but they can definitely bring in plenty of mailbox money, which is nice.

Thank you for a very professional and gentlemanly response. But what, my fine friend, will it take for you to give me some insight into the players who might have a serious interest up there with the resourses to drill? Awaiting your reply...

I think it just depends on what area of town your land is in. If you have land east of town, your best bet is Winchester/Exco. Anywhere other than that, you"ll just have to wait and see. Where is your land located?

Did you see the article in the Shreveport Times yesterday?? Guess that is just information pulled out of the air too! Funny how things keep popping up about the little towns on the supposed outskirts of this play. Isn't it????

Per the Shreveport Times yesterday:

"Small towns like Haughton and the rest of us are always strapped for cash, so it could really be bonus money for us to use to improve infrastructure," Plain Dealing Mayor Dale Barnette said.

His town's government is in the same boat as most of its residents: Barnette and company have heard a lot about the Haynesville Shale but have yet to be approached by anyone.

So they have yet to be approached by anyone. Not a good sign I would say.

We're still waiting for evidence, and I have a feeling we are going to be waiting a long, long time.

Would it be objectionable to ask, "Who made you the O & G king in Shreveport??" Or so you "think."

Well like I posted a while back several suites of logs I have seen on many wells in the area, old maps, recent wells drilled by Samson and J-W, and direct statements from CHK, HK, etc. make me arrive at the conclusion that it's not present in North Bossier. The J-W Rumbaugh well in 20N-14W along with the Samson dry hole in 21N-13W have really turned oil/gas companies looking for the Haynesville shale away from the area. That's a lot of concrete evidence to support my claims. It's not necessary to get hostile because I don't share your opinion. Bring some evidence to the table and then things could be different.

Hey Flop...of course they will say they didn't hit shale, it is just sand...I saw where a poster told earlier today said that he "Personally" knew CHK employees that were headed to south Ark. to start leasing. They must have some of that sand up there too, huh? TD says that CHK told them it wasn't up here..Seems I remember them keeping a little secret for a couple of years before the cat got out of the bag don't you?

They are really considered to be in the Rocky Mount field but it is really MOTT area...There is another 3rd on the Mott oil field road but I haven't seen any data on it to know what depth..I do know they hit gas and oil there...
