Groupon is the greatest business story in the history of US finance. It was just 2 months ago that I was reading they were the fastest company to a billion of all time and now here they are selling for $6B.

Hopefully this means more diverse deals. I can only get laser hair removal so many times.

its a good buy. the issue I think is the barriers to entry for competitors is very low. Although Google has great channels to deliver the "deals" to it.

Nice tie up IMHO, although $6B seems pretty steep purchase price

This synergy is what makes it a great acquisition.

6 Billion is a truckload, though.

i joined when they added Denver. I have bought zero deals, usually they are pretty lame or have so manycaveats they aren't worth i.

Yes, but the sales model is going to be interesting. Small businesses aren't usually tech savvy, Groupon might help with that b.c they obviously have a sales model that reaches very small businesses just based on what cross my email with denver groupons.

I've had it for months and never used it once. However, I'm not really a "shopper," either.

I think it depends on the city. Sometimes the deals Ihear my friends getting in san fran are awesome.

I almost bought rock climbing lessons but you could only do it on Tuesdays before noon or some shite like that.

then a restaurant close by came up that we frequent......great deal $35 for $20 but you could only use M-Th, not for lunch and had to spend over $50....and no alcohol. WTF?

I've never used groupon, but I have used other sites like bargainbee.com and livingsocial.com (I use this one a lot, mostly half off restaurants).

Yeah I've had it for a few months, but never used it. Too many limitiations on the limited things I wanted.

We've attempted to advertise with them multiple times and they keep saying that our company is not what would interest their viewers.

Whatever because a few days later after each call, I see tree repair services on their site.

I hate groupon and their high and mighty attitude.

70% of their demo are the ladies. they buy, men don't.

looks like LivingSocial.com will be bought by amazon now too. I like their escapes deals. [link=(escapes.livingsocial.com)]escapes[/link]

$180 million investment by Amazon yesterday. The chips are falling.
