I feel like accounting and CPA are the most valuable check boxes in business. I feel you can learn anything else.

MBA will be a controversial topic but in my experience they are quite useless unless you attend a top 20 school.

I have Masters Professional Accounting or something other from Tech. Was one year feels like it helps me get jobs. Might not do much on earning power.

For OP 100% get BS.

What do you think you want to do. Might help on major advice.

If you work at a smaller regional bank, I would have a meeting with your boss and tell them you want to move up in the bank but know you need a bachelors. Ask if they’ll pay for your bachelors and they can specify majors they want. Small banks struggle to keep good people and if they think you are good they may see this as a way of locking you in for 5 years since you can only take 1-2 classes a semester and work. This will only help you as it shows them you have initiative.

Pretty sure getting your degree from Mississippi state online is the exact same degree as getting it in person. Nobody will know it is an online degree. The diploma is the same. (I could be wrong. This is how it is at most texas schools that have online degrees)

To the OP:

If you make $60k with an associates and live in Mississippi you are already doing better than many college graduates your age and pretty much everybody who hasn’t gone to trade school or gotten their degree. First off I would ignore the people telling you to go the trade school route or nursing unless that’s what you wanna do. I also think people are underrating the business degree a bit. The 4 year degree will open a lot more doors. An accounting degree or finance degree is definitely the most prestigious and best route. And if you are thinking about m&a then it seems you want to try to make the most money you can. Go the finance or accounting route, although a general business degree is still better than not having any degree. Even a history degree is better than no degree and will open doors in the business world.

You should also probably move to Atlanta or texas upon graduating.

The American government doesn’t care. I can’t remember the last time I’ve made a “dr” appointment and seen an MD and it’s going to continue to get worse

I dont know what the government did or needs to do, but NPs are cheaper than doctors and can do nearly everything doctors can do minus surgery and all of that.

I know a NP that runs a satellite hospital clinic. She gets about 35 walk-ins a day and only collabs with the assigned doctor if she has to for unique cases. The NP is sufficient for 99% day to day.

Looking forward to it, now to get out of this hellhole of a job.

I would suggest taking your mind off of such a stressful decision for a while and visiting the r/scrubsgonewild Reddit and look at naked nurses. Then after that get out a piece of paper and make an ol'l fashioned "pros and cons" list for going back to school
