Can anyone recommend a contractor or company that removes lead paint from the exterior of a house?

What year did they outlaw lead based paint?

1978 in residential paints.
I've worked with Gill Industries and a company called QEC based in slidell. These were industrial projects though.

Is there some requirement that it be removed? Or are you simply avoiding the disclosure?

You must disclose but the solution is not removal. You can just paint over it. Almost all homes pre-1976 still have lead paint that is encapsulated or painted over.

Well it's chipping... someone told me you can't paint over it if it's chipping...

Some been eating those chips.
I did read a story years back that the soil in many of our neighborhoods had super high amounts of lead in it due to so many old houses being painted over and over and over.
Don't know how much that is true.

With all due respect you really need to stop listening to

Haha thanks for the advise. I found a guy to get me a bid. He only has to remove certain parts of the paint that is chipping. The rest he can paint over.

Is there a simple test to see if it is lead-based paint? Even when it is painted over, is there a waiver for tenants or new owner to sign?
Where is the house, Nola RE is crazy high

Well I say paint it over but there's a term he used... capsule it? Encapsulate it? Basically seal the lead paint with new paint. It's legal.
Algiers point. Got it for a steal too
