I told you this the first time you posted it. Flex Fuel is nothing. You can run regular gas in it. It is nothing special. All cars can run E85. It is just that the e85 might cause the regualr tank and line to rust quickly. All you have is a special coating inside of your fuel system.

It does seem pretty ridiculous to give a $3,000 credit for a 16mpg (or less) truck. Seems like there should be a minimum mpg achieved to be considered "fuel efficient", but I guess it's aimed more at emissions though? Seems like a pointless subsidy.

FWIW, if I qualified I would take claim the credit regardless.

The website still says "your refund is pending approval"....i filed the amendment on the 12th. On the 22nd i called to inquire and was informed of an unreadable bill of sale. I faxed it that day and the status is still pending approval....

I'm afraid if you faxed or mailed in the amendment it may take 12-16 weeks like it does for a return that's mailed in and not completed online. I walked mine over to their office last week - will update with results, but it may be awhile...

Again FWIW - more confirmation that flex fuel vehicles qualify -- got this reply to an email I sent to LA Dept. of Revenue last week:

Good Morning,

The vehicle would be eligible for this credit if it is listed on the motor
vehicle registration. Below is a link which can be used to determine if the
vehicle qualifies as a flex fuel vehicle:

[link=(www.propelfuels.com)]www.propelfuels.com[/link] / search "vehicles" by make and model to determine if VIN
character matches designation of flex fuel vehicle.
Contact the office at 225 219-0102, if additional assistance is required.
Thank You

My wife's brother got his today (bastard got his before me and I told him about it)- he filed the same time as me (a couple of weeks ago when I posted what I found out) - he filed his amendment online- I walked it over to them- probably why my refund will be delayed. He has a 2011 Ford Escape- FYI...

i did my amendment online on the 12th. on the 19th i called and they said they couldn't read my bill of sale. clearly the bill of sale doesn't matter and is not required. my registration has the qualifying VIN and proves I own it. I am furious. I don't understand why i don't have my refund yet. I didn't even think ford's were eligible...I have a chevy that is a true E85!. it sure dosen't look like my refund is being released...not sure why this is happening...

The bill of sale is required. The credit is the lesser of $3000 or 10% of the cost. If they can't read the bill of sale, they can't confirm the cost, and you probably won't get the credit, IMO.
